I had one of those but sold it quite a few years ago. I bought it used in 1993 or 1994. It had XT/Ritchey Logic components and Mag21 fork. Of all the bikes that I have owned and sold, that one is the only one I really regret selling.

Some comments regarding the bike. It is HEAVY! I didn't weigh the frame, but i lifted it when the bike was totally disassembled and it was shockingly heavy. The biggest challenge of the restoration was the rear derailleur pivot bolt. It was almost seized, and I had never encountered that...

Bought this Miyata Trailrunner at a charity shop in Vejbystrand in the south of Sweden. It was in a poor state of repair and had obviously been stored unused and outdoors for quite some time. I offered to by it for 200 sek ≈ 20 Euro, but they would not accept my offer and insisted that I buy it...

Re: Just found what I think are hairline cracks at the weld just below the pivot point on the swing, both left and right side. Tiny cracks in the paint. Is this where these bikes usually crack?

Thank you lrh:) I'll probably end up selling either the complete bike, or frame, seatpost, rear shock and maybe fork but keeping all the XTR stuff and the front wheel.

Well, there are a lot of nice parts on that very nice frame, and it looks like it's in very, very good condition. Congratulations on being able to build your dream bike. But........the colours really don't match at all.

Yes, that seatpost is classic. At least it isn't the fork that's turned 180 degrees:) I doubt that he'll get more than 300€ for it here in Sweden.

Cleaned and inspected the bike some more today. Unfortunately the bike has been left outdoors for some years and the paint has suffered. The paint under the stand and lock mount is damaged, a little at the stand and a lot at the lock mount on the seat tube. The Headshok rubber boot is also...
