    Benotto question

Hi all, can anyone tell me anything about this Benotto which I'm thinking of buying? It's the only picture I have for the moment... I guess late 70s? top end model or lower down? thanks!

    Identifying an old Peugeot

looks very nice. this page has details on dating from headbadge, transfers, frame# and so on, as well as a collection of old catalogues: http://www.cyclespeugeot.com/index.html my personal impression (which may well be wrong) is that frames below PX10 didn't have full 531 (as yours seems...

    Peugeot PVN10 Super Competition

nice! especially like the chainset. what is the seat post? It look like it has 2 colours, or is that an optical illusion? looks like you could level the saddle a bit, and I think leather toe straps would look nicer too ;-) cheers

    1978 Peugeot "super competition"

I have now got this frame built up. I though I should take a few photos before it goes into full commuter mode and get it's looks ruined by lights, bells, whistles, reflectors and so on! I've used it for one day's commute so far: everything seems in order. The gear's a little higher than what I...

    french 1970s "Bosdure"

The triple is 51-42-32, with a 6spd 14-22 block, so not inconsistent with light touring, but not enough for fully laden alpine climbs (at least for my legs!). I believe that many french bikes of the period had mudguard eyes (see for example the top of the range peugeot 1979 PY10 here) so I don't...

    french 1970s "Bosdure"

pics of the wheels unfortunately the rear QR skewer is cross-threaded, and the nut has pieces missing... can anyone identify which model the hubs are?

    french 1970s "Bosdure"

I got this bike on ebay, intended as a donor for my peugeot build. However it looks to be a rather nice frame. Full 531, campag dropouts, wraparound stays. I found one reference to Bosdure on a french forum, which claimed that they re-badged and built up frames from elsewhere. Apparently cycles...

    1978 Peugeot "super competition"

now with waxed frame, CLB brakes, "BF" stem and no-name bars. Have "sulky" brake levers and pug chainset still to install. Need new brake cables/pads, correct-sized seat post, and bar tape before I can switch over my (fixed) wheels and ride.

A question to the experts: should I drill a drainage hole into the BB shell?

    1978 Peugeot "super competition"

These panto'd cranks arrived today. They are stamped 79, so exactly the right period (although not original equipment with this model). I'm planning a trip to the LBS to get the pedal threads reptapped to 9/16th (they are 14mm now) so I can use my spds: it'll be my everyday commuter. I also need...

    1978 Peugeot "super competition"

I was asking myself the same question! I don't have a set of vernier calipers (maybe a purchase for this weekend), but I measured it with a ruler, see the pic. It looks a little bigger than 26mm, I would guess 26.2. But don't take my word for it (I certainly don't!).

    Early 80's Raleigh Competition

very nice! did you renovate the chrome or re-chrome? If renovation/polish, could you tell me how you did it and what products you used? I need to do something similar (although mine is not quite as rusty as yours were). Cheers!

    1978 Peugeot "super competition"

I have CLB brakes (the mafac centre-pulls I had my eyes on seem to be a bit too popular on the 'bay) and a peugeot branded SR Sakae chainset (I guess possibly from a slightly later period) arriving soon... I also rashly bid on and won an inexpensive potential donor bike...not sure what it is...

    1978 Peugeot "super competition"

It does indeed look exactly like a 1979 PV10. I guess a 1979 model frame could have been made in 78? I noticed that my BB axle had 79 stamped on it. What colour are you getting yours re-sprayed?
