Prefer steel, mostly because I'm more likely to get all the fender and rack mounts I need. Actually riding an aluminum rigid frame/fork at the moment, but it has all the mounting holes for the most part. Had to add a riv-nut for the fender but that's it. Anyhoo it's got a knackered BB...

Well to a point... I mention in the auction the spring rate issue. If you didn't weigh a ton it might work. IIRC these frames have a 3:1 leverage ratio and can require very high spring rates. I had to put ALOT of pressure in that shock to make it rideable. But then again these things...

keep an eye out, just bought a Trek 930 frame/fork for cheap on ebay. I was watching another recently that went for $115 buy it now, they are out there.

These are lugged, but aluminum. Un-weldable aluminum alloy bonded to internal lugs so you can't see them. Kinda cool looking frames. The old Trek 9000 full suspension frame had the front triangle constructed the same way.
