Sold Pace fork seals - 4 pairs - OE fitment

If nobody else wanted them then I'd take them as I just used my last spare set but I am happy to be at the back of the queue. Great info on the seal ID, I hadn't realised they were generic parts!

Sold Pace fork seals - 4 pairs - OE fitment

Are these the single lip seals like the ones sold cheap on eBay, or the proper double lip ones?

Which bike helmet do you have for retro riding?

A few pictures from various catalogues (Edi bikes, M&P and Evans) for the jogging of old memories: [

Which bike helmet do you have for retro riding?

I remember seeing the Sub 6 in the catalogues at the time and thinking 'wow'. Now I see things like that and think 'wtf'! I really struggle with a lot of helmets as I've got a bit on the back of my skull that seems to stick out more than average (I'd hesitate to call it a wisdom bump like you...

Sorted 200 x 50 or so rear shock

5th's were always a PITA to pull apart the first time without heat and clamps. Once you've done them once they're fine, but that first go always used to test my patience. I was going to do the one on the M1 myself but then remembered that a) back then I had more time and b) how likely a 22yr old...

Which bike helmet do you have for retro riding?

I've got a bunch of old TLD D2s but had more, most of which annoyingly got binned by my dad years ago when I was storing them at his. And yes, I'm still salty about it as he asked what I was going to do with them. Save them I said, I'll grab them next time I'm over. Bin them he did, without...

For Sale Saab 9-3 Turbo coupe 3dr SE Hot

I'd probably have a look to see what Facebook groups there are. Still lots of idiots but at least they'll be idiots vaguely interested in a Saab rather than an idiot looking for a BMW or a Ford.

1995-1996 ROCKSHOX JUDY SL (Yellow) = Tire Clearance 26"

They were very niche though. Wasn't the Kujo a 24" tyre ? I thought the 2.65" was the largest they did in 26". Very few bikes had clearance for that sort of stuff, it certainly wasn't the norm even in DH at the time. The Michelin Comp 32 was 2.8" but only just squeezed inside the brace of a...

What length spokes (am I measuring correctly)?

Not just salt, highland bog does a similar thing to them thanks to being rather acidic. There isn't a single justification for aluminium nipples to me, whether they're 'good' ones or not, they're still poor compared to brass. You can't crank on them, you have to be super careful when adjusting...

    1997 Marzocchi Z2 Refurb / Service / Fettle

Enduro seals are some of the worst products I've ever used, they add friction, look crap, and mark stanchions. Not recommended. I've not used them but @Dr-Zocchi ones are basically OEM spec so a lot better. Picking up on your point about oil volumes in your first post; the reason most modern...

What length spokes (am I measuring correctly)?

Unless I've re-rimmed the wheel many, many times (mostly when I was racing DH), or the spoke has sharp edges from rocks gouging them or the chain digging in, I just straighten out bent spokes. They're pretty tough. If they're fatigued and snapping at the threads or at the elbow then that's the...

    Hope tech brake bleed advice

Bits of deteriorated seals, usually from the lever rather than the caliper in my experience. That you're asking the question suggests you didn't!

    Hope tech brake bleed advice

I still preferred washers; once you knew the correct number for your frame that was it. No fuss each time you removed it, just straight forward re-aligned every single time. Then again it required patience and some finesse, something MTBers aren't well known for. Personally I reckon you should...

1995-1996 ROCKSHOX JUDY SL (Yellow) = Tire Clearance 26"

The other issue with modern tyres vs old ones is the volume. Casings now are generally the widest part of the tyre whereas on older tyres the widest point was usually the tread which stuck out quite a bit beyond the casing. Therefore a modern tyre is for example 2" wide and 2" tall, whereas an...

    Hope moto disc thickness

Vented rotors are 3mm, standard are 2mm. If you're using the vented rotors on the V2 or V4 calipers then they work spot on even with new pads, but with a normal caliper you're going to struggle to both fit it in the slot and have sufficient space to get pads in. In fact most calipers don't have...

Help with fitting Syncros Stem/Bar Combo

Slide the first coin in, nip the bolt up at the back to hold the coin. Insert coin into the second slot and nip up from behind to keep that in place too, then alternately tighten the bolts by 1/4 each at a time until the shim can be easily moved.

    Team DBS Intense M1

If you want to keep those parts you can dip the stained end of the calipers and the connectors in a warm citric acid solution which will remove the rust and staining on the aluminium.

Bought the cheapest M1 on the net - help with ID and specs?

The X-Vert Carbons look awesome on the M1 too, good choice! My preference is white for the frame but then I'm biased. The MBUK team ran that same setup for a while too albeit with Hayes Mags. Probably got some pics of them somewhere too.
