There's no polite way to put this... Saddles for fat blokes?

Like I say, no real polite way to ask, so might as well just come out and say it! I'm a lot fatter than I once was, and now I'm looking to get back into cycling to lose some weight. Now I don't intend to do anything other than country parks or footpaths for a while, but until I slim down...

    Really silly question.......

because, you are missing the point. then i'd have to find somewhere to hang a wheel too! Will just keep an allen key to hand. I did try and explain how it was an idea to not have to keep tools around lol. Thanks you anyhow :) Paul, where did you get those from? they look pretty useful!

    Really silly question.......

Ok, don't laugh, don't call me an idiot, as I'm only asking..... Ahead stems. Have one on my Kona. Now, I live in a flat, so limited room. I'd like to get one of the wall mounted bike hangers so the bike is out of my way when not being ridden, but the rub is that when you want to hang it...

    Under geared?

It appears I am starting to get the hang of this! If I try and keep the pedals spinning at a sensible rpm, in top gear, I seem to make better progress than if I was to stand up and thrash the bike. I'd still like to increase the size of the outer ring, would 4 teeth (44 to 48) make such...

    Under geared?

Um, big gear masher, pretty much i'm afraid. far too unfit to cycle at that sort of cadence yet. Doorman and ex rugby player tho so plenty of weight to push pedals with! Persevere with it and just work on a acheiving higher cadence?

    Under geared?

Seems that upon jumping back on my bike for a bit, either I have developed extraordinary thigh muscles or just that I'm used to it now.... I can be in highest gear possible and it isnt too much hard work. Now the chainset I have is stc rc, so would I be able to just change this for a...

    Polishing a painted frame....

Thanks for the replies people, and thanks for the welcome! Sounds like it might be more sensible for me to get it powder coated in a cool colour instead! Any suggestions for something that may look cool with some anodised bits? Thinking either cream or black with cream decals!

    Polishing a painted frame....

Hi all, I have a '94 kona fire mountain, and instead of doing the usual, I'd like to do something different. Is it at all possible to strip it back with something like nitromors and then polish the frame? Is there such a thing as clear powdercoat? Thanks in advance for info!
