    spoke length/wheel-building guru's insights required ...

I've never heard of those exact rims. Are they the same as DitchWitch? Which are pretty well the same as Rhyno Lites (ERD 547 / 548 so pretty well the same as they are almost the same rim). I'd be measuring for sure, or if you don't know how to measure exactly maybe ask a shop to do it? It's the...

Wow, it actually has some paint left on it! (speaking as someone who bought one of these when they came out)

What do you consider to be the best retro MTB stem?

I had Atac, Syncros, Ritchey, Tioga, Flextem etc BITD (and they all sucked in their own way... I'd have voted for the Atac if it didn't creak all the time). but the Ringle Trail stem was the one that almost made me feel the same way as those Kylie photos in newspaper Sunday supplements....ahem...

    Bontrager OR

A buddy who works in another shop once texted me a couple of photos of a Bontrager that he had in for repair. I half jokingly said that I'd buy it if it came up for sale. A few months later.....it did! Buddy acted as the go-between and I picked it up for the princely sum of $120CAD. I lusted...

Best bike shops that cater for retro builds

Re: Yep, both of them have been around forever! Used to buy my stuff from Dave back in the day (including my first proper MTB in 1989). Lee in Stans used to work in Stans around the same time IIRC, and is still there! Sandy at Trailhead is an old monner too (meant in the nicest possible way)...

    Ritchey McKinley 1982

I was luckily enough to see this in the 'flesh' yesterday. Such a rad bike. The yellow might be an acquired taste for some but it certainly made the bike stand out from the crowd!

    Toxik Harald 2016

I only remembered this at 11.30am this morning but it was good to see some cool people and bikes. I'll post one or two photos up when I get chance. In the meantime, does anyone have a photo of the blue Ritchey with the yellow tires and grips? I'm not a violent man, but I could quite possibly...

    Which Muddy Fox Frame?

I got this frame many moons ago when I lived in the UK and built my Dad a bike up for Christmas. He had many good years out of it but then upgraded to something more road-centric and this had been thrown in the coal shed ever since! He's asked me about who he can give the bike too, but I'm...

    Getting revenge on cycle thieves!!

Re: Pretty funny but it was one by the same guy that had me crying. I'm not going to link it, but this is the title ha ha.... "ULTIMATE Firework In The Bathroom Prank While Shitting! PRANKS GONE WRONG Pranks 2015" I think I have a childish sense of humour.

Re ignited love and a Canadian adventure

Great read. I see you did stint at Different Bikes (I worked in their Burnaby store for a while). Love the Rocky! If you ever get a surplus of vintage suspension forks feel free to drop me a line as I have a bit of a collection ha ha. I run a bike shop in Vancouver :)

What is worth to sell? what model John tomac downhill bike

Rad bike! Love the Kowa fork too. Not seen one of these bikes with this paint job before. Might be worth checking with a more DH orientated website before splitting it. Could easily be an old team bike with that paint job.

    Brodie Libido

I see Facebook ate my pics again, so you'll never see that I once had this built up properly  I needed an 'errand / work / pub' bike as my other one was horrible and figured the URT would make a good single speed huck machine  I figured out the magic ratio so I didn't need a...
