Apologies if this is a double post but my original seems to have disappeared. I have 7 speed Indexing Shimano 600 Ultegra levers and rear derailleur which is SIS compatable to 8 speed. Can I use the levers for an 8 speed cassette using the end stop for the 8th gear or is the difference...

Back on the Road Apart from a few details that need tidying here's the finished bike. Mudguards going on soon for winter and a Brooks B17 at some point I think. I was concerened about the Suntour Accushift as I remember it being a right pain but with a new hyper glide chain and NOS Accushift...

Hi Michael, I think you'll find it is a 7 speed although the cassette is retained by the last two gears screwing into place. Gutted that isn't the right hub for you though. PM me and we can try and sort something out

Does any one know where I can get brake cables with an 8mm barrel end as opposed to the 6.75 mm that is the current standard? Or even some adaptor shims?

I have just aquired a QR (no skewer) Suntour XC Pro rear hub, 32 hole, 135mm OLN which is surplus to requirements. Unused although it does have some very light scratches.
