    Shimano Long Reach Brakes

Is there anything in the model numbers of Shimano brakes that identifies them as long reach (49-57mm)? I'm looking at eighties/early nineties stuff

    Identifying my new Raleigh

Guess it looks like it. Not the best catch in the world but ok for free and I won't feel guilty about what colour I have it with whatever components choose to put on it. Thanks for the guidance :D

    Identifying my new Raleigh

No, sorry! It's stripped to it's component parts now and the frame went for paint stripping and powdercoating this morning. Be back in about a week.

    Identifying my new Raleigh

I've just acquired a Raleigh which was abandoned in an industrial unit my sons firm has just moved into. It's had a nasty respray at some time in it's life and the only identifying marks are the Raleigh badge and the frame number WM4000386. The seatpost size is 27.2 mm and the main tubes are...

New Member and my Bike (Carlton Corsair 1979)

Corsairs were all bought by gigantic blokes! That's in the same 25 inch size as my old one. Very nice - if you ever want to stretch its legs you'll find it a really capable long distance tourer.

    Reprodution stickers and Original frames

I'd always speak to Lloyds too - their online catalogue (though immense) does not include absolutely everything they do.

To refinish or not to refinish - Geoffrey Butler

I'd definitely polish and see how that looks first. It looks pretty fantastic as it is :D

    WTD: Pair of 700C wheels

I need a pair of 700C wheels for my crappy Norwegian DBS Gold Flash "racing" bike. Something close to the originals would be good -they are, or were no-name alloy rimmed clinchers with a single speed cog (its never had gears). So nothing fancy required. Would prefer a single cog to keep the...

    Hello there!

I ride modern bikes but I've just inherited 3 old bikes. A Scott's of Birmingham 1980's "racer", a Waverley by BSA (1948 by the date on the SA hub) and a real clunker Norwegian DBS. The Scott's I'm leaving alone because it's in really good nick and useable, it'll just get a clean and service...
