    Show us yer FSR's

Thought I'd post an update on my bike since I originally posted it in this FSR thread way back in 2011 (back on page 5 for the original details!) In 2015 I replaced the rear SID Dual Air shock for a DT Swiss SSD 190L as the SID had no lockout and used to pogo about like a pogo-y thing, sucking...

1997 Specialized Ground Control FSR Comp

Thought I'd post a bit of an update since I originally posted this way back in 2011. In 2015 I replaced the rear SID Dual Air shock for a DT Swiss SSD 190L as the SID had no lockout and used to pogo about like a pogo-y thing, sucking as much energy out of me as Colin Robinson (WWDITS) would...

Girardengo ATB on online auction site

My local auction house usually sell crap bikes, but every now and then there's an interesting one and this week's is certainly different if anyone fancies it. A Girardengo with elevated chain stays. Other than that there's no more information. Item link: https://www.easyliveauction.com/auction...

1997 Specialized Ground Control FSR Comp

Yes, the first two digits on the serial number should be the year - mine (97SF00XXXX) is located on the bottom of the bottom bracket. They did make this frame for a few years, and your's is obviously a later DH model as it has the extra gusset at the top of the head-tube and the 'top/down'...

1997 Specialized Ground Control FSR Comp

Hi swos, Nice bike, and in such good condition too :) As I think I said I got my FSR in 1997 from new, and didn't think of upgrading to disks for a couple of years, instead adding Shimano Carbon Fibre v-brake boosters to boost it's breaking power by stiffening up the seat stays (which...

    Show us yer FSR's

Well, here's my '97 Ground Control FSR Comp (though I'm not sure if this thread is for pre-2000 or a post-'98 bikes?) I've had it from new, first reading about it in MountainBike Action magazine (they'd made it their 'Bike of the Year '97') and then bought it from Leisure Lakes in Daventry...

1997 Specialized Ground Control FSR Comp

Hi guys, Finally thought I'd get round to posting a few pics of my old FSR on here, prompted by popping into my LBS with it a couple of weeks ago (a rare outing for it) and one of their staff commenting on how good its condition was for its age. I've had it since new, first reading about it in...

My old MTB kit (and stuff)

As I've been lurking on the site for a while now, and started posting a bit recently, I thought I'd add a few piccies of my old shirts and other bits and bobs. They're from about '96-onwards, so hope they qualify as 'retro' enough... Fisher shirt I got with my '96 Montare And the first...

    ROX T shirts

Here's some of my old Rox t-shirts from yonks ago - the only one that's had heavy use is the 'Till Death shirt which I used to wear when I went to warehouse raves back in the day.

I get a bit fed up when people join to sell something

I've been reading the site for a while, but joined to sell as it seemed the best place for my old kit to go to people who'd appreciate it more. And people joining, posting for a while and disappearing isn't unusual - on the snowboarding forum I frequent they've a massive seasonal membership...
