Can anyone identify this possibility Russian bike?

Back on topic I have one of those old soviet road bikes. Mine has original paint which rather poorly applied and original if slightly squint decals and crude Campagnolo copy components. Thankfully I did not acquire the original chain set, freewheel or wheels which were of so high a gearing it...

How old is this old Pegeot?

Never understood the Peugeot number system, sometimes it just feels as if they use a random number generator

How old is this old Pegeot?

Definitely from the 1970's or backwards through 60's. The rear mech is Huret of 60's spec and pretty much else everything else says similar. Need more pics and a close up of the lugs specifically head tube lugs. Aztec style lugs would suggest lower end spec.

Clubbytrail's 2024 - Not dead, just sleeping edition. Sunday 10th November

At times dull and very often wet but generally pretty good. Not cycling much though as there are few roads compared to central belt and cycling can get very repetitive plus of course the rain, did I mention the rain ? Most of the MTB trails I have found are death wish steep and techy so I don't...

Clubbytrail's 2024 - Not dead, just sleeping edition. Sunday 10th November

I would love to come along but,........... unfortunately I head off on my holidays on the Sunday. Have a great time and don't break anything except the MacRetro record for slowest average speed for a group ride.😉

Global fat bike day, 2nd December 2023

Look up Jamie Dyer and Epicyclo (Brian MacLeod) in MacRetro. They do a run every year up in Dingwall area but it's not a big formal thing😉

What About the Glentress 7 on a 24 Aug 2024

Seems not a lot on the competitive aspect of Retrobike for 2024 what with MM not seeming to be happening. So I get sent an advert for Glentress 7 possibly because I did do one some time ago and crashed out on lap 2 or 3 in solo category due to lack of fitness, talent and a suitable bike (Raleigh...

Show us what you did today, thread

Gravelling mainly, lots of gravel roads, lots of steady climbs and uber fast descents with loose surfaces for exciting cornering. 😀

My number one favourite ebay seller. I have lost count of the number of great things I have bought from them over the years. Recommended highly😎

    Carrera Hellcat. Any info?

Sorry for the post resurrection but the 1999 model in the original post was exactly the same as I bought new in early 2000, well almost. The frame was not Urt like the one in the last set of pics. The pivot point was slightly above and behind the bottom bracket. The frame was made by Merida and...

Sunday 23rd April - Kinnoull/ Deuchney Hill Perth - Roll call time.

Sorry guys for sloping off way too early but I have definitely lost my nerve for the steep stuff. Bike would handle it if I could commit but just couldn't do it. I am a big feardy. However I plan to get way more gravelly this year so hopefully be seen again😎

    MacRetro chat and rides thread

Looks good, be better when it's more worn in and gnarly. I have I admit, not ridden my new modern mtb for a few months. Partly this was due to the fact peeing rain and mud feature heavily in North Argyll and mainly I have not bothered my backside to get out on a bike, my bad😞 So went out this...

Sunday 23rd April - Kinnoull/ Deuchney Hill Perth - Roll call time.

I might be being thick but today is the 16th April and the meets on the 23rd April so you'll wait at least a week for any familiar faces in the Jubilee car park🤔

Sunday 23rd April - Kinnoull/ Deuchney Hill Perth - Roll call time.

I am up for either as I now have Sundays off and finally the right bike for the terrain. Fitness however is dire but when has that ever been an issue for MacRetro 😁

What's your favourite road tyre of all time?

Better than Schwalbe Marathons if you like a bit of gravel and as you say don't mind being a bit or a lot like a tractor I personally recommend Specialized Crossroads Armadillo. These tyres are practically impervious to sharp objects with bead to bead kevlar. Still remarkably supple though and...

    Frame Brand ID, Help

The headbadge is Colnago which is Italian so if the bottom bracket shell is 70mm wide it's Italian home market model but if 68mm then likely model for release in UK and USA. Beyond that I know nothing and likely another knowledgeable person on here will tell you so much more😉

What's your favourite road tyre of all time?

I am on a journey from the dark side to yours ie mtb to road. My off roading days are diminishing excepting gravel which I am starting to get into. My favourite types of road bikes are old lugged steel machines and this brings me to tyres. I have always liked Michelin World Tours which as a...
