    26 x 1&1/4 Wheeled Bikes

Mine is a 1947 Dawes Courier, a light tourer/clubman style bike, drop bars and Sturmey Archer gears. It had 26 x 1 1/4" from new. Also offered with 27" One problem the OP will find that it is impossible to get Tan Wall tyres in that size. All blacks are available, from Schwalbe, for example.

    GT Avalanche 3.0

Hi folks, I am the proud(ish) owner of a GT Avalanche 3.0 frame and bits. Purchased "by accident" off of that there ebay The frame is (I found out after buying it D'oh!) Disc-brake only, ie no lugs/bosses for canti or V-brakes... Saving grace, it is quite pretty (aren't almost all GT's?) And I...

Possibly stupid Quesstion, re. seatposts, clamps etc..

Now this might seem a bit of a dim query. But how best to tell which dia seatpost to get for an older MTB (or even road) frame. And which size clamp? I have a digital caliper thing. Do I subtract a certain amount from the id of the seat-tube? (And how do I edit my horrible spelling in the title?)

And another thing.. Swap possible? Raleigh Tourer vs MTB

I have a nearly nice Raleigh Routier. (complete, fully serviced, new cables, chain etc, might (see other posts) need a different rear wheel. I need a reasonable MTB (frameset) for a petite person (she is approx 5' 2") Anyone?

    Raleigh Routier..

I have asked before, but I am still not sure. I have this Raleigh "Routier" I know that it is not and never was a classic, or even a good bicycle. But.. It is now all nice and proper and ready to roll. Except..The back wheel kicks out, whenever I put any "power" down. I have tightened the QR's...

    Having the right tools

Re: Re: I was in the shed the other day, with some bits of wood and some tools. There comes a time in every man's life, when he just has to make a stand. (Imperfectly remembered, and I am sure that Stephen Fry did it better)

    Just me?

Oh and ps. My ex-girlfriend's solicitors have been in touch, and have informed me that this joke: a) Is not funny and b) It does get old..

    Just me?

@NeilM I went for the back half, which meant that when I got bored or tired, I could stop paddling. And that I could ladle weeds and water over her head and pretend it was an accident. This joke NEVER gets old.

    How to explain?

IDK, but almost certain that he is not, I have no problem with him, but I do hate terrible, unrideable bikes..
