    Roox XC 180mm cranks

I would have offered it here first if I had an idea how much they were worth and frankly I've found the "how much is it worth" thread pretty useless.

    Roox XC 180mm cranks

I had no fixed price in mind which is why I put them on the ebay thread. 14 lurkers on there but no-one bidding yet.

    brakes!

Hope Disks, 1992 In November 1991 (or thereabouts) MBi featured Hopes mechanical disk brake. In early 1992 the second batch of 50 was finished. Here's a pair a couple of days after their fitting. In those days you could still visit the mill on Skelton Street, Colne, for a fitting...

1992 Hope Mechanical disc brake & custom brazed fork

Apropos of the recent brakes poll http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=70125... In 1992 Hope released their first disk brake using a floating caliper and mechanical actuation. After a year of racing on the hose-clipped version I gave my 1991 GT Karakoram forks to Dave Yates who...

    Kore Elite 140mm stem, 1997

This is a top of the range Kore Elite stem from 1997. 140mm, with what looks like 10 degree rise. Used for a couple of years on the tandem then replaced with something shorted. My retrobikes either need quill stems, or something around the 110 mark so I've no use for it. It's certainly sat...

    Roox XC 180mm cranks

These were fitted to a bike I got in 2001. They've been lightly raced but I swapped them for some Race Face Turbines fairly sharpish. There is some scuffage to the ends of the crankarms, but they'll polish up nicely. 180mm Roox XC 5 arm cranks. Compact bolt circle diameter (94/58mm)...

    brakes!

Hope capable GT fork Disc. 1992 GT fork from my original Karakoram, custom brazed by Dave Yates to fit Hope mechanical calipers, the bosses ground off. Resprayed black. It's currently sitting unused and unlikely ever to be. It fits 1 1/8" headsets and steerer tubes of 10cm length. If...

    NEMBA Results

The main man at Sideways Cycles, Tim Johnson, was Cheshire & Peak so may know. I'm sure it was Tim that brought the barbecue for the weekend when we* were setting up at Peckforton. * I wasn't part of the NEMBA crew, but I did help with setting up and marshalling a few times.

    NEMBA Results

Not just for me - for everyone I think the main organiser was Graham Longstaff, who also did the early years of Polaris (and if rumours are to be believed have just taken it back). Brant Richards was involved, as were various other clubs and their members. Phil at Cheshire and Peak was also...

    NEMBA Results

Does anyone have any NEMBA results from 1992 to 1997, either as scans, or paper copies they are prepared to lend me to scan?

    Retro racing pics

Broxa Nationals Those pictures of Broxa make me shudder. By the time I got back to the MX course they didn't tell me it had been cut and I slogged round the bastard thing twice.

    Turner Burner (V-2) 1996

Yellow seemed to be a popular colour to bring into the UK though - I blame Jamie Hibbard fault. I know of at least 5 different yellow Burners from that era, 3 of which had been built up as XC machines, and two as DH, with red Judys and Hope Big-Un hubs. So you can identify these rear ends then...

    Turner Burner (V-2) 1996

Fixed the link so you can just click on it. It's got some nice (if you like that kind of thing) late 90's stuff on it - Chicken Stix, X-Lite bar ends, Race Face cranks, Pace carbon front hub. I came without a rear wheel and the rear mech apparently got trashed by in transit home from the US.

    B.o.T.M. Aug 2K+9 - Full suspension special

The last year of NEMBA was 1997 and I think even then the disciplines weren't so far apart that one bike still couldn't do you well on DH saturday and XC sunday. Certainly that's what we did with the Turner tandem up there, and the original owner of the Burner was doing. I have pics of the...

    Turner Burner (V-2) 1996

Maybe. Can't decide if it is worth updating as an everyday XC ride for today or trying to find some suitable old-skool bits for it. The forks are swaying me to old-skool.

    Turner Burner (V-2) 1996

Clicky takes you to flickr The Element is incomplete - no rear wheel which is why there's a singlespeed wheel in there. I know this one has never been for sale. Yellow ones all look much the same :)

    Turner Burner (V-2) 1996

Understated? I've found that compared to other colours* yellow bikes attract the most looks. * red, blue, black, white, grey, metallic blue

    Turner Twin Burner, 1997

Red Hot Flying Polyps So far as I know Pete always rode for the Red Hot Flying Polyps. Usually on a GT tandem which he'd had modded to take 26" wheels, or a very early Turner Burner (a silver 1994 V1).
