I've tracked down a replacement lhs Exage shifter for my Trek, but it's missing the shifter pod. No problem, I've got spares, STX-RC and a slightly more basic set. However it seems Shimano have changed the mount slightly and the newer pods don't fit. Anyone else run into this?

No sign of date but reckon this is 1997 or later. Shows the 'Tube' and 'Big Bones' frames.
