Straddle cable can be used as a 3rd hand.

No toe in required. Great feel at the bar. Stoppies at 20mph.

Not so sure bicycle brakes were meant to be adjusted on the fly anyway. Adjusters are way to small. Inline adjusters meant for motorcycle carburetors are aluminum and just the right size.

Have you looked at Motion Pro or Sudco under cable making supplies? Maybe a possibility.

Changed out the front brake.

The cockpits a bit cramped. I suppose I could flip the stem and move the seat back a bit. Might gain 1/2”. I’m going to change out the brakes. The mini motos tire clearance is marginal at best with 1.95’s.

It’s rideable.

Kestrel made 2 other mtn bikes. Both had regular chain stays.

Just how good is your memory?

Pedals with ti spindles, brake close up and cut steerer. Shock holds 200psi. Riding on it will tell the truth.

Found this cable thingy in the tool box. I’m assuming late 80’s.

I cut 5” off these bars and their still 5” wider than I’m used to which is 22.5”. I’ll leave it ride it and see if I like it. Not sure about the stem. They don’t call it a Pauls Boxcar for nothing. And the mini motos need 1.95’s otherwise there's cable rub on top of the tire
