Retro steel MTB - any ideas?

I'll refer you to this thread: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/so-what-is-this-frame-name-and-shame-it.74638/ It was confirmed that @cannondale king had a Merlin, so likely that this is one too. Pretty sure the frame number in this case indicates a January 1997 build date.

Mystery Kona ID. Can any experts help. S/N SF20211578

The frame number does indicate a 2002 frame in this case, not 1992. The only confirmed ID on an SF frame number I have is a 2004 Raleigh Savannah. See thread here: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/name-that-frame-what-have-i-bought.322389/#post-2413484 I don't have any Konas shown with an SF...

If you add the frame number, that might help. Saracen are all over the place with their numbering schemes from what I can tell so far.

Is that the full frame number, or is there an extra digit hiding around the side of the shell?

Help with identifying a GT serial.

Some ID can also be gleaned from the other number in the middle of the shell ... not sure what yet, but I've seen the following: A200-1 A420-P A410-8 A174-G

    1990 Kuwahara Gepard

Frame number suggests a 1990 frame. From the same factory as Rocky Mountain. Search for YA0* using the forum search to find several RM Cirrus frames.

I'm going for U30306026 That fits in with the other two I have. Interesting that the sticker says 'Made in USA' My Diamondback Axis has 'Designed in USA' and 'Made in Taiwan' stickers.

    ST-M320 shifter pod mount compatibility

It looks like it would be possible to fit older shifters onto newer levers - however newer shifters onto older levers is the issue. I may need to make up a plate from a large washer for the square mount to fit.
