Dragging myself back to riding not just hoarding bikes and getting fat....

There’s not a suitable group near me that I’m aware of. There’s a group full of rich, healthy sorts on mega money moderns, I know a couple of them. It’s not for me just now though. In fact I did this post mid life crisis twenty yrs ago I joined a classic mini club locally, it was scary then...

Dragging myself back to riding not just hoarding bikes and getting fat....

I have considered a modern, but I don't like the ride on newer bikes I've tried, they are big, bloody expensive and it seems to me bloody expensive to maintain. I have a local group if I was fit enough but they are all on bikes costing loads, lots fitter than me, it is a weekly no matter the...

I have full sets of marples all pattern chisels, a full set of old record planes... I keep them in cabinets, I use them regularly but not so often as when I didn't have three routers to choose from! Thing is you can't find them, I won't ever let go of them i don't think as replacing them would...

Only one who is really ill, and another who is way fitter than me, and even less timerich. He is onboard, as we have a car mproject together and the ride to where its at, is a pleasant if hilly ride, mostly offroad so we have already discussed regualr seasonally appropriate riding out to work on...

Ive many hobbies or interests but many are taken care of by holidays in the uk, walking etc.. woodworking by the house or present making, etc so they tick along more comfortably focused within life. Dragging myself back to riding not just hoarding bikes and getting fat....

Dragging myself back to riding not just hoarding bikes and getting fat....

Literally that, just an expression of my internal lament that I spend more time on here or restoring bikes for myself and sometimes others than I do riding...! Life has many other distractions, an old house, the demands of my other half , mostly related to said house.. several cars, also in...

1996 Saracen Tufftrax. STX Groupset. Ritchey Finishing Kit. Original Factory Specification.

Lovely looking bike, screams nineties with purple paint instead of all purple anodised bits! I would love one or even earlier e stay Saracen. I've low mileage stx on a marin, it's slightly heavier but hard wearing and good looking. I've got lx and xt and xtr bikes, and actually it's all very...

Which retro mtb suited for bikepacking

Off topic .. but am I looking at early steel amp forks, running v brakes? In the top pic on the univega... I have a Kona with amp forks I'm building and the curve cantis are a nightmare. I figured v brakes and flex of those light forks might be a recipe for disaster.. I've some nice og lx arms...
