BoTM Jan 13 - The Poll

Yep, agreed - difficult choice being faced with so much variety after K-F-Y last month. It's either Roberts, Formula or Mantis for me...

Wow, nice work on that cable hanger - ingenious. Look forward to the finished result, will be good to see another Graffiti zipping around.

Bike of The Month January 2013 - Nominations Please

Some nice photography this month. The Roberts looks excellent against the lavender and the backdrop of the first Raleigh USA looks like a painting. It helps that both are awesome bikes of course - both being contenders for me this month. If I could choose to own one the Roberts would just pip it...

    £2000.00 What retro bike?

Obviously opinion varies wildly on this but personally I think 2 grand is a nice solid amount to splash on a top end 'treat-yourself' retrobike. If you're thinking of a Klein though its worth noting the massive difference in price between a Pinnacle/Rascal and the Attitude. You could pick up...

Oh dear : Show us your butchered Retrobikes.... :-(

Haha classic - I know that one all too well! I was cycling up a biggish hill in Leeds on the way back from work when this younger kid clearly took it upon himself to race me up. There was no way I was going to let this cheeky sod get away with that one so I picked him off and pulled away from...

Oh dear : Show us your butchered Retrobikes.... :-(

This is going back a few years when I was insanely fit but I did burn up an entire road racing club out on their team ride once (I think they even had matching socks on!) AND I was on my full susser with fat tyres on! One of the fondest memories I've ever had on a bike! And thanks Rampage -...

Oh dear : Show us your butchered Retrobikes.... :-(

Rear mech is a 9spd SRAM X9 - my absolute favourite of all time which has a plastic cage! I could never see the point of spending £100 on the carbon caged version when your rear mech is essentially the most vulnerable component on your bike. And yeah, it often brings a smile on my face when I...

Oh dear : Show us your butchered Retrobikes.... :-(

OK, maybe this doesn't qualify for full on butchery but it used to look a hell of alot smarter than this! It's my ex-nickel plated P7 that I've deliberately uglified. I live in London sometimes and I wanted a quality bike with Mavics, Deore, XTR, Race Face etc that would stand up to proper...

Bike of The Month January 2013 - Nominations Please

Classic!! I maybe shouldn't admit this but I used to have a Saturday job at Halfords as a teenager and built up many a Raleigh Activator. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to see one with XTR bits on it!! In fairness to Raleigh, I never experienced a customer bringing one back with...

BOTM Dec 2012: FAT Vs Klein Vs Yeti

Damn you Trailhead! I thought I was going to make it to voting time without you splitting the Raw Anu Pinnacle vote  Hehe - seriously your bike looks ace - but obviously I'm gonna say that seeing how similar it is to mine! That's three silver Pinnacles this month then - you wait all...

1989 Doug Bradbury Manitou - 1st update complete

 Remember getting excited just having seen a black and white photo of one of these how ever many years ago it was - think it was in the Mountain Biker Buyers Guide. Now I see it's actually in my favourite colour!!! Agree with many on this thread: My BOTY for 2013 and we're not even there...

...no motor transport for me I'm afraid.... Llangollen is as far West as I can get in Wales as I live on a boat 8) but that whole area around Coed y Brenin / Gwydyr Forests looks awesome and Bala Lake looks reachable by bike. I'm going to have to practice saying these place names before I...

BOTM Dec 2012: FAT Vs Klein Vs Yeti

Agreed! - Never found it so hard to pick one bike from a BOTM field but this has been hovering at the top of my shortlist all month so far. Looks incredible, I want to ride the sh*t out of it, brings back memories of being a wide-eyed teenager and the quality of the photograph is amazing :D

Thanks Humanoid - it looks wicked. Would never have imagined it was man made. I'm expecting to relocate to Llangollen next year - not in range of Machynlleth unfortunately but I'm hoping to find some good stuff when I get there :)

PotM - December - My Trail

Hehe, forgive my English prejudice  You've just reminded me of last Summer which I spent in the Avon Valley in the West Country - I'm not usually one to be put off by a spot of rain but it was so wet it rendered alot of awesome trails literally unridable for much of the Summer. The woodland...

Where is this?!?! It looks like a beauty! Love trails like this - if you were to look to your left as you're decending it would feel like you're flying... And yep, Arthur's Seat is ace - not the kind of place that's so wild you can get lost but it's literally five minutes from the city centre...

PotM - December - My Trail

At the top! ...of Arthur's Seat. I often travel to Scotland to work for an Edinburgh based company. I make sure I take my wheels along because this steep rocky trail is the perfect wind down after a day stuck in the office - not to mention the 360' view you get from the top!
