    Gnarly looking P7

Allow me to introduce my beloved hack! An uglified P7. I just wanted a bike that I can happily leave locked up outside the shops but one that still has decent spec hung off a good frame and this was the result:

BoTM July '13 - Muddy Fox vs Orange vs Saracen - Nominations

Re: BoTM July '13 - Muddy Fox vs Orange vs Saracen - Nominat It was the same with the FAT/Yeti/Klein month come to think of it... You can tell from my sig line why I might be a bit biased

BoTM July '13 - Muddy Fox vs Orange vs Saracen - Nominations

Re: BoTM July '13 - Muddy Fox vs Orange vs Saracen - Nominat  Early favourite! That looks positively awesome. As with the Kona/GT/Spesh month I must confess I've pretty much decided which brand I'm going for before I've seen all the entries...

They say that " A Klein.........

Naturally I always sweat over the Adroits and Attitudes when they come up for sale but at the end of the day I'm still chuffed with my Pinnacle after 20 years. It feels so precise in its handling I can literally enjoy riding it in a straight line along a flat bit of tarmac. If I ever had an...

Bike of The Month June 2013 - The Poll

Wow, what a runaway Ibis victory! Well deserved - congrats Huelse 8) As for the earlier comment about the brand being 'on top'. I for one believe that Ibis have produced the most innovative bikes ever - e.g. Bow Ti, Silk Ti & Szazbo and as such sit at the top of my list. Hopefully I'll own...

    Worst Kona: 1990 Lava Dome

Pleased to add that I've just become a member of the Kona Owners Club as of a few seconds ago too! Snapped up a decent looking '93 16" Lava Dome frame for the princely sum of £22 off fleabay. This opens the door for two new projects: A P7 Resto and a Kona "raid the parts box" type build. Wahey!

    Worst Kona: 1990 Lava Dome

Yeah this sounds reasonable. The guy (forgive me for forgetting his name) in the factory tour video emphasised how much they prided themselves on making life easy for people that worked in bike shops. Sounds like they got it a bit wrong on that occasion!

    Glasto

Yep, it's changed alright. You used to just be able to just roll up there and wander through or over the fence - now you need a couple of hundred quid burning a hole in your back pocket and a shit hot broadband connection otherwise a ticket is out of the question. That said, just got a twinge of...

    Anyone want any USE stuff??

LogicAL - I'd like some bars with the bar ends in blue or red or both. And a seat post in blue or red Dave_Mars - If they have one of their rigid TFI(?) forks - sign me up. Jerky, secret_squirrel - USE ti railed saddle. legrandefromage - a couple of seatpost decals Ishaw - decals for bars/posts...

    retro or disc?

Haha! Good point! When my rim failed, unbelievably I was not riding the bike at the time. The pressure from the tyre alone was enough to burst through the metal. BAANG!!! Deafeningly loud noise followed by sharp strands of metal pinging out all over the place. Not enough to put me off rim...

Mmm I know its not advisable but

You need to pull the cable further for V's than you do canti's - so using canti brake levers to activate V's can be a bit sketchy as the levers don't always move far enough. That said, it does work (I run this set up myself), it's just not as effective as it could be.

    retro or disc?

I always swore I'd never replace the Xtr V's on my Blur with discs until I wore through the braking surface on my rear rim. Ended up getting some Hope Pro II's and must say I was blown away by their performance. They've been practically maintenance free for a couple of years too. The cost, light...

Haha, would make a good project for someone! I think Kramer was the resident cycle fanatic. Did they not also have an Ibis up there at one point?
