Looking for a hardtail bike for trail riding around 19" frame size. Not a race or jump machine. 3x7 o.k Not a heavy clunker .Based in sunny ( !!!!! ) yorkshire. Really a case of what have you and how much
Not for serious of road use. They soon get outfaced. I am using a ridley cross bike as a winter bike with studded ice tyres.Swap them for cross tyres in summer and hack the bridleways. It depends how much abuse the body can stand as to how usefull it would...
Thanks for the reply. They need running in for 20 miles from new.No hard braking that sort of thing.I imagine that going over stones and gravel will distort the rubber and ease the studs out and it seems that is the case.I run them on a cross bike and have two...
Hi
Has anyone used winter snow stud tyres off road when there is no snow and if so how did the studs stand up to it.I can imagine that the flexing could pop out the studs. If not it would save a lot of messing about wheel changing. Overall wear is not so...
It seems ambrosio are no longer selling the rims I bought because of tyre fitting problems. They have brought out another version of the same rim.Fine but what about all of us that bought the old type ?Dont expect any cries of compensation any time soon.Am now using...
I have four of these chainsets on various bikes and all the inner rings have been swapped at some time or other and not a single problem. Must be a new thing
Sure iv seen gripshift mounted on top at the end of the bar tape towards the stem.Cant be 100% so need enquire. Got barcons on a bike and cant say I like them
You would be more than lucky to get any at £20.00. You may be in with a chance at 40 plus. What about stem mounted shifters .I also think I have seen gripshift used in the centre section of drop bars but could be wrong on that one
Where on earth did you hear that royal mail looked after the posties. If you are sick twice in a year its the sack. The union is a complete waste of time. One postie was so ill he had to go to hospital. When he got back home he went back to work too early thinking...
The ene ones are still around the £140 mark so not cheap. The good thing about them is that they are going to put more of this style of shifter on the market. The more used ones come up for sale the more the downward pressure on prices. Its the fact that the...
You may well be right with that. 10 speed is a different world from where I am. I can say though that eight speed on a seven shifter is about as far as you would want to go with the lever
Seen comments that you can make them ten speed but dont think so as the spacing changes after eight.Of course on friction you could but eventually the lever would be so far over it would be very difficult to handle
Got the suntour ones on three bikes. They are seven speed but you can run eight using the mech stop screw as the inner index point. They have about a quarter of a turn on friction past the last index point. Most I have ever paid is around £38.00 for a...
Sure will do tomorrow.Tis now today so photos added. For what its worth if the frame is raw titanium then black is the way to go whatever you end up buying.I have an airborne tt bikewith silver brakes and am considering changing to black
