'89 Scott Boulder OWMTBC '10 project - FINISHED

Nice job, I must start to rebuild mine! But you seem to havve a different fork as well! Mine is more straight (like a rithey logic fork), and also a bit wider above the tires (a bit like a pepperoni fork, but just a bit) Also, your frame doesn´t have the ovalised seattube, but we...

    Wanted: Girvin Vector Stem

I´m looking for a stem for the Vector Forks. I need something with a little rise, like 10° or so, and about 135 mm more or less. I do have a zero degree stem, 135 mm, so a swap is possible as well. Not my bike, but to get the picture: This is the kind of stem I am looking for...

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

Yep, especially with 1" quill stems, this happens all the time. I almost bought one from an american ebayer, I aksed specifically. Of course, the stem was 25,4 mm (1 inch). When I told him that tis is for a 1 1/8 inch system, and the 1 inch actually measures 22,2 mm, his reply was kind...

I know, my frame is definately a ´89 frame, no doubt about that. i only thought it might have been a 89 "windriver"-frame (the more expensive one) in "boulder" coulourscheme, to clear out the frame stock. But as mentioned before, the windriver frame has the same features as the boulder...

Nope, Both the windriver and the Boulder from the catalogue have the same cable stops as you have got. Also, when I zoom in, they DON´T have the oval seat-tube, like mine... Have a look; 89 Boulder: 89 Windriver: I seem to have some kind of "special version"... lucky...

'89 Scott Boulder OWMTBC '10 project - FINISHED

Hey, that´s strange! Well, the cable stops were like this from the beginning, i did not alter them. And my seat tube is ovalized down at the bottom-bracket (just below the Tange Infinity sticker), to make the frame stiffer when hammering on the pedals (like I said...race-oriented) I...

I´m not quite sure that I needed that cablehanger. I think I modified it, because i wanted to be able to adjust the stem height without readjusting the brake. Unfortunately, i don´t have the original stem anymore. You also see that I rerouted the front-shifter cable along the top tube...

The parts on that bike you bought are awful. Somehow only few people realize that this bike was the alternative to the Specialized Stumpjumper back in the days. Racy geometry and all, this bike was called "the legendary 89 Scott Boulder" by the german "Bike" magazine in some article...

Hi Marzin, I will do the scan of the 91 catalogue this weekend, promise! I wanted to do a rebuild of my 89 Boulder, which turned from original to dark blue. Now I plan to bring it back to original (however, doubting to use a light blu instead of the pink colour...) Mayba you can send me...

    X-lite 1997 Pro Titanium

Fatigue? Looks to me like the seatpost was shimmed, but the shim was too short. A Frame should never crack there. Get it welded! (Preferably by someone how has the proper erquipment, shielding gas, or even electron beam welding machine)

Well, why don´t you and your R&D Team beat them by building BETTER geared hubs and frames, instead of modifying what they developed in the first place? Just curious...

    Proflex 852....

With this frame, it is a different story. It´s not perfect, but you can "safely" use the Risse. You see that it is hinged on top, so no bending forces can be applied.
