Please help wigh my old Peugeot

Exactly what I have done. Works great for small applications. I recommend keeping the polish and the area being worked on cool to avoid drying too quick, but I live in Florida so the temps are quite a bit higher than your area, and I do it outdoors 'cause I hate the fumes! I had a couple...

    Pinarello prince never built

It would be higher value in my area (Florida). The branded saddle and stem alone would bring in about $100 USD or more.

rBoTM RBotM March 2024 - Open Month - Enter Now!!! Now!! Now!!

Indeed; I think Mike's second post was in recognition that it was a bit too new to meet the criteria. Regardless, here is the ol' (early '70s) Favorit still getting out for some fresh air.

    Old Italian Columbus frame!

I have recently come across another example of a Rossin with fluted (4) tubing and having the "Cromor" decal as well. Rossin openly states in their catalog with a Ghibli model that; "the Ghibli is built with an exclusive Rossin tubing system forming its own trademarked rippled (fluted) Columbus...

Vintage road bike, what components to change?

Given the frame's vintage, late '80s Campagnolo groups like Chorus or even Athena would be appropriate also and would be less money than SR, CR, CdA. Also, the Athena rear mech outclasses in performance all the more expensive inline Campagnolo mechs of the same era at about half the cost while...

    Old Jersey

Here is another Italian shirt (circa ''60s-70s, wool) that uses different initials: "U.S." I knew about "GC", but I still do not know what "U.S." stands for in Italian.

    Interesting

I fully agree; and not much difference between buying a super light steel frame bike designed for TTs, and record type events on smooth terrain. People forget that a Colnago Mexico is made with .5mm wall thickness and was never meant for the rigors of daily riding under less than optimal road...

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

I don't know of any Campy dust caps without a logo. If no branding then they just might be generic caps which can be gotten for quite cheap; 10 pounds or so depending on steel/chromed, aluminium, or plastic.

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

Save time and try selling as a wheelset. If no takers, break them down.

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

I would agree on the lower end estimate. Without a higher tier groupset they are more difficult to sell at a premium price. Correct! especially for a 30 yr old(?) or more used frame of unknown mileage and conditions (rider weight, road surfaces, etc.) it was used for. Resins do breakdown over...

Trying to know exactly which Colnago frame it is...

Excellent information! If that was an '84 model year (frame possibly made in '83 if bought early in '84 or something that hung on the shop rack for a bit) then it would be the earliest that I have heard of the BB shell with "BREV. COLNAGO" stamp. All other features described sound proper for a...

Trying to know exactly which Colnago frame it is...

Just a quick update on this frame since I have had a few more Colnagos passing through hands over the past couple years and have needed to properly identify them before moving them along to others and saving them from the horrible affliction that is "Colnago Confusion" or the "Ernesto Enigma"...

rBoTM RBotm December 2023 - Open Month - POLL NOW UP - VOTE NOW!!!!

That BSA is a very deserved winning bike without a doubt, and I went for the Selbach which I thought might be close or even win given its worthiness; not to mention the other great entries. Regarding voting, I always tell a couple US guys to check the entries and support the contest by voting...

"Colnago Owners Group" is closed to Colnago owners!

Actually is was not for me at all, but I was vetting the site for a new 1st time owner since I did not want to send him somewhere that was not worth it; and then "the rabbit hole" appeared! I think if I survived my first 38 yrs of riding a Super without it, then I should be okay for 38 more...

"Colnago Owners Group" is closed to Colnago owners!

Okay, good to know. I know I am older and a bit impatient at times, but I first tried and waited for days with the site still saying my request was pending review. There were zero questions when I hit the "join group" button so what else was I to do? Then upon browsing for the site again I...

"Colnago Owners Group" is closed to Colnago owners!

Is anybody part of that F-book group? I was checking it out for a 1st time Colnago owner, and I (nearly 40 yrs of owning, and riding Colnagos) was denied joining. Some sort of joke group! I recommend not wasting your time there since they deny you access and on message state "Visit group"...

Anther death on a dangerous decent

And certainly in my case with the vehicle the fault was on the organizers who failed to stop traffic/close intersections, etc. I was lucky only to receive minor injuries, but still enough to take me out that day.

Anther death on a dangerous decent

To be a little more serious than my previous post; I have ridden with and without safety protection (helmet, gloves [mtb type]) about equal times in my life so about 25 yrs with, and 25 yrs w/o; and during those time frames given the types of mishaps (due to my own fault, other riders, vehicles...

rBoTM RBotm December 2023 - Open Month - POLL NOW UP - VOTE NOW!!!!

@Jamiedyer Thanks for the notification Jamie, but I am realistic and even I wouldn't vote for my bike if you paid me to. Such a gorgeous group out there that my, still as yet a mystery, bike would be best served as a bike stand to prop up the others. Cheers to all and good luck! I think I'll...
