Thanks for the colour coding info I didn't know that. So I'm on the lookout for black spacers. If anyone has an old worn out maillard 8 freewheel with black spacers I'd be happy to give you a couple of pounds for it.

I'm not able to move axle spacers around because its a mavic hub, 130mm alloy axle with no spacers.

I can remember this model, it was available as a frameset, 531C in 1987-1988, Kingfisher blue. A friend owned one of these & I had the slightly better red, white & blue frame from the same year.

Thanks Foreigner, that does look nice, its looks a good size, the sticking point might be that it has a top bar. I'm in Scotland, but travel down south frequently. I don't use Facebook, maybe I'm missing out on some good finds on that platform.

Thanks for that. I didn't know about the complete axle version. Though it looks like the only compatible part is the cone, so I'll probably wait until the WH-RS21 cones become available. Luckily I've got a spare winter machine which I'm now using. Cheers
