    GENESIS CARIBOU + ON ONE FATTY + ELECTRIC MOTORS = 2x :-)

Re: Yes, I've still got it, although I dont use it that often. The centre drive works well and means there's a huge choice of gearing and speed capability, and it's very efficiient, but it also means it's hard on transmission parts, particularly chains. I snapped one last summer climbing the...

    GENESIS CARIBOU + ON ONE FATTY + ELECTRIC MOTORS = 2x :-)

Re: Re: Nice work. A couple of points from when I built my electric Felt hardtail that you may find helpful. For the brake cut out, I used a very neat inline pressure switch tapped into the hydraulic brake lines and allows you to use proper disc brakes. I have a spare one kicking around here...

    WHYTE JW2 DISC MOUNTS

These are as rare as rocking horse ordure, you'll probably have to make your own. There is (was) a technical drawing for the front and rear brackets on the MTBR forum, might be worth searching there.

    GSB's Whyte PRST-4 build

An update. Actually, three and a half years after I first posted about my Preston, and having now owned 3 of them, it's an ever-so-slightly-overdue update... To all intents and purposes, it's finished. I'd still like to finish the graphics properly, and having located all the...

U.S.E S.U.B. Monoshock alternate wheel fitment.

Re: USE were very helpful with spares and info. This fork is now on my wife's old Giant ATX, which was in a shocking state after it was left outside for a year or so. Rather than buy her a new bike I thought I'd restore it to its former glory. A couple of days with T-cut and a lot of new...

U.S.E S.U.B. Monoshock alternate wheel fitment.

If only the Lefty could be stripped, serviced, rebuilt and restored as easily. This thing requires three Allen keys, and can be stripped to its component parts by an utter bafoon in about 8 minutes. It's the easiest suspension unit I've ever serviced by a huge margin. Shame they didn't keep...

U.S.E S.U.B. Monoshock alternate wheel fitment.

Not exactly a "Readers Bike", but more a "Readers front end", I bought this USE SUB fork (or to give it its full name, the Ultimate Sports Engineering Stability Under Braking Monoshock) a year ago and tucked it away a cupboard for later tinkering. 12 months later I dug it out and took a closer...

    Fs- stuff including marzocchis

Warning for all retrobike users. A month ago I bought some tyres from Simonlovell99. Despite chasing them and being assured they were on their way, they have yet to arrive and he has stopped replying to my messages. Make of this what you will. Caveat Emptor.

    simonlovell99 feedback

Brace yourself Simon, you might be about to get some more. I paid you for a pair of tyres a month ago. You told me you were packing them up for shipping three weeks ago, and now you're ignoring my messages asking where they are, despite the fact that I can see you have logged on.. Last chance...

Re: Hi Simon, You still have those rapid robs kicking about? I need a pair of 650b tyres to check a frame for clearance... Cheers.

What's the best full suss XC bike ever ?? the answer is !!!

Re: Re: The Whyte PRST-4 is a very capable XC bike, and when maintained there are no squeaks and rattles. A mk1 crud catcher keeps everything nice and clean. Importantly for the OP, it's got a low stand over height, and is very very comfortable and arthritis friendly. The suspension is super...
