1992 Tassajara? Possibly with later cannondale pepperoni fork?

    Mystery Frame with potential

That rear brake bridge is exactly the same as all the 1990 models but doesn't feature on any of the 1991 models (except the Explosif catalogue picture). I've looked up heaps of 1991 Explosif and they all have dog collars. That small white oval sticker on the seat tube matches the 91 Cinder Cone...

    Mystery Frame with potential

Re: The purple Explosif in the 1991 catalogue doesn't have a dog collar. Probably a 1990 model sprayed up for the photo.

    Seatpost Identification

IRD seems spot on and an unexpected bonus. Thanks.

    Seatpost Identification

Can anyone help identify this seatpost? 28mm at top, turned down to 27.2 lower down. Clamp says 27.2 on it so original. Clamps like a USE post. Came on an old Pinnacle.

    Mystery Frame with potential

I'll pick this up in a couple of weeks. I only have this photo. Bought it cheap for the frame, plus a couple of useful accessories. It's a real mish mash with curved forks and weird stem and bars. The rear canti looks like it's falling off and it may have a retro fitted brake cable stop. The...

1988 Kona Fire Mountain, Curved P2, Unusual Colour Scheme

There are a few '88 Fire Mountains in the black/purple splatter paint job around, but this is an oddity. The colour scheme is the same as the Cascade Lava Dome viewtopic.php?t=42778 and the spec is very similar too but the tubing is the same as the Cascade Fire Mountain. The u-brake has gone...

where in NZ is Carmen SanDiago ?

Re: rrrroberts Gareth Blenheim Thought this thread need a bump. Been on RB a while but not seen this thread, though I have possibly bought stuff from several of you and also registered my Pace RC200 with Rich in Welly. Got into mountain bikes in 1990, not keen on much that happened after 8...

    Fisher CR7

I will build finally mine up one day, unfortunately the frame is 12,000 miles away. Pretty much my dream bike when I started out. Still never ridden one.

    Name those Cranks......

They look pretty similar to a pair of Grove Innovations Hot Rods I had years ago?

Can you help identify this frame?

Re: I've already got a shed filled with far nicer and older stuff. I'm trying to throw out stuff like this, though mainly because I used to buy stuff like this. There's not much of a market for this sort of thing in NZ, which is great for me to buy stuff like this, but really hard to offload...

Can you help identify this frame?

You're right again... Nothing like it showed up on google image search, even for 1996 Marin Nail Trail. Ugly looking thing, currently up to £8 on auction site here. Cheers

Can you help identify this frame?

Pretty sure it's not a Marin, frame seems routed for cantis - forks/vees/ahead probably not original. Looks like a mid 90s Giant but the square stays and frame pivot designs look all wrong. I don't have another photo, quite intrigued though.

    Serotta Content - 1992 T Max Project DONE :)

Re: Have replied to pm, seems to be sitting in outbox. If you don't get a reply I'll try again Lovely singletrack bike, climbs like hell. They are stiff, but are not suspension adjusted so to fit some would take away the beautiful handling. Close to road bike geometry, not a ride all day bike...

    Serotta Content - 1992 T Max Project DONE :)

Re: Serotta Content - 1992 T Max Project If you were keen to go down the 'team' colour scheme (yellow/pink/orange) in the bottom right photo, I have a near mint one hanging from a rafter in my garage. Can take some pics and measurements for respray purposes.

Can you help identify this frame?

Retrobikeguy has got it. Nice work. Never realised Mt Shasta were GT. They didn't try too hard to hide it though, looking at this This now appears to be original spec. Almost. Anybody need some 7spd New Success gripshifts with lockout? Thanks guys

Can you help identify this frame?

I am hoping the collective wisdom of RB can help identify this early 90's aluminium frame. It has been stripped and lacquered and fitted with a DX/XT mix, RM17 rims and a load of GT finishing kit. It's a 19.5" frame with a 23.2" top tube The frame number is T9201 3546 (Jan 1992?) Welding seems...

Mutts Nuts - what am I?

Re: Mutts Nuts was a bike shop in Birmingham somewhere North of Perry Barr - they sold these for a while. A mate of mine had the dubious honour of working there in about 1995. They sold these. I was under the impression they had only ever sold one and it coincidentally ended up years later in...

looking for Alan bike (or frame) < = 54 cm, please

I have a Guerciotti Sprint, like the one in this picture I scavenged off the internet. It is a 54 and has done extremely low miles. I also have the original 7s 105 groupset but not the wheels. It is an Alan with the italian brands stickers on it, I can provide photos. Only downside is, I...
