Wow, definitely a custom build, then, with such a disparity between top tube and seat tube dimensions. Thanks, David

10 Speed Chorus or Record Ergopower Shifters Wanted

Re: Hi Borris4, You state doesn't have to be working, so - I have a pair of Record 10 speed levers with a broken left hand shifter up-shift lever (sits behind the brake lever). Ideal for spares or if you only want to run one chain ring... On the off chance these are of interest, I'll be...

Sloping Steel road frame, Large, xl. new/old, tatty/perfect

Hi, I've a De Rosa Casanova, lugged steel (mid-late 1990's, I think) built of Columbus Brain OS (Over Size). 57.5cm top tube, 17cm head tube, 60 cm CT seat tube. No fork. I can throw in a non-original straight bladed steel fork (non-threaded, ahead steerer), with enough space for about 10mm...

Steel frame sizing - bikes with extended seat and head tubes

Larger Colnago's (I think 61+) use 'Freuler' sizing. I believe Herr Freuler was a tall Swiss Pro from a few years back. The Freuler system is just a continuation of the longer top tube, longer seat tube, taller head tube pattern over the sizing range. The difference is that the top tube is not...

Campagnolo 10 speed Group, cannondale forks arabesque bits

Re: Do you have an idea of the weight of each of the forks? Are they both carbon steerers - one with aluminium dropouts, the other with carbon dropouts? Thanks, David

    My own SBDU Timeline

That is a really useful document of these world beating British-made frames. I content myself with a Worksop built 531 replica, but appreciate the SBDU frames. Well done, Neil. David

    Carbon Respray?

I got my Colnago C40 resprayed at Atlantic Boulevard. It was not a straightforward scheme, but the cost was over £500. I believe Argos Cycles do carbon resprays but have no experience with them. Good luck, David

1973 Pogliaghi Italcorse (Brügelmann Mod. E/M Extra Leicht)

That is a story of patience and persistence. Well done. Such a rare bike, had you been looking for one specifically, or did you see it and then research its history etc? Beautiful looking bike and, as you say, 'the proof is in the pudding', of how it rides. Enjoy, David

    Raleigh Professional - Mk. V

Re: Raleigh Professional Mk.V - Finished Seat clamp spare - You could try one of the older Campag dealers, eg Mercian, or Universal cycles to see if they have a spare clamp. Try Hilary Stone and 'Campy Oldy' (are they still going?), too. Otherwise, you may may need an Ebay search for another...

1996 Colnago Master Olympic Art Decor

Fantastic. I can see why strangers come to you for a chat about it. That really is wonderful. In my eyes, the wheels complete the package - it looks so 'together'. A candidate for 'Road Bike of the Month', I would suggest. Keep the pics coming. Enjoy, David

    Delightful Delivery - De Rosa

Re: I have built the bike up, to see how it rides. I've just had brief 2 mile 'round the block' ride to check brakes, gears etc, but enjoyed it. More work to be done and more bits to change (fork being the main one). It needs the bottom part of the headset changing, which I'll do when I get a...

    Delightful Delivery - De Rosa

Hi MacRetro Rider, It may well be the same frame. I got it from Ebay, delivered from Scotland. The sellers description and photos were very limited, but there was so little interest, I thought I'd take a punt. I certainly don't need another frame, but have always fancy a De Rosa. It was very...

    Source for touch up paint?

Hi, I've just bought a new/ old frame that has quite a number of paint chips. I'd like to touch in the worst of them. I have seen some on here refer to using modellers paint. Is this the best solution? What other options have you guys used? How do you go about a colour match - do you take...
