Oh yes I've let out the stop screw, and it goes onto the largest rear sprocket with no jumping when using the middle or largest front chainring.

It's a 7 speed mech and shifter, I just used an 8 speed wheel as I got a really good pair for cheap.

I'm having issues getting into the largest sprocket(28t) on the rear whilst using the smallest front ring (triple). All the others are going in fine, it's a new cable, a new casette and chain. The rear derailleur is an old but virtually unused long cage Exage 500 LX. The shifters all work fine...

Recently got back into road riding after a few years off. I've a 2009 Trek 1.7 ,it's fitted with an 11/25 rear which coupled with a 34/50 front makes for hard going on some Derbyshire hills. So short of it what's the capacity for the 105 short cage rear deraillieur, is it 27 or 28t?

I have the matching rear wheel but it must have been jumped a lot as every eyelet has cracks radiating out , the front is perfect though!

interestingly mine is an eyeletted rim.

its a fully rigid frame, rides surprisingly well for a non descript frame.

it's an old Carrera Krakatoa, value is virtually nil and it is definitely of the 'Triggers Broom' variety, only the frame, forks, headset , BB, brake arms and derailleurs are original, everything else has been swapped twice.

nothing in mind as yet, but hoping to keep it traditional rim brake, I'd prefer cantis but V's could be used and I do have a half decent set already.
