    I always say you don't have to be mad to be a barra boy , but it certainly helps . It is a shame they have virtually died off . When I started riding a lot of the clubs had lads with trikes and it was good fun watching bike riders having a go . A lightweight trike is a great conversation starter .

    the hubs on the rear are different. The loading on the wheels are different, more side ways force. You can run fewer spokes . But these are touring trikes and are designed for reliability. I was all way told the best place for spare spokes is in the wheel

    I bought the white one unfinished and got it mobile then restored it and that is now the red and cream one. I ride trikes for the challenge and they are great fun. Will probably get blackballed for this but here is my retro looking modern one

    1951 Claud Butler Avanti Courier Special fitted with a George longstaff outie axel . Bought it like this . Great fun toured all around the country on it doing the British cycle quest.

    46/ 36 / 24 triple on an old rigid mountain bike . Seven speed good for ruff stuff ,never seams to wear out . Great range of even steps 5O/ 4O/ 28 Triple on a 1978 diff drive ken rogers trike its on 650c on the back , seven speed STI lever It struggles for traction, even on mildly moist...
