I shall be there, as I'm taking a break from Eroica. Its a bit of a haul up from the west country, but we are coming up early to spend a day in the lakes... Most probably will be on a Jack Taylor and not a Carlton...

This frame was more like a model in the US catalogue. This model was not in this form in the Carlton range then. The International of 70/71 used white.

Had the same issue on a frame year before last, I chased the threads through with a old cup bolted to a suitable spanner, turned it half a turn then back, then half a turn more and back, and so forth... Cleaned the thread through in the end. A little squirt of WD helped too.

Clinchers wont fit a tubular rim. I was under the illusion, I could be wrong, that tubs were 700c?

Id say it was unnecessary. Wouldn't do it myself, adjust a few washers/spacers if need be.

These are amongst my favourites Capella lugs on a 1963 Carlton Catalina. These lugs were prevalent in the Carlton range from about 1959 through to the late 60s. The initial ones were hand-cut by Bob Keeling at Carlton. I love these as they are decorative and distinctive without being too showy...

Still use a paid for account with Photobucket. Its OK, but throws up glitches from time to time.

This is a little project I have been tinkering with this last week or so. I'm a big fan of Univega and have had an Alpina 500 from new, bought back 1996. I've still got a few changes I want to make but have given the machine a good service, upgraded the cantis to STX and put on some new tyres...

So nice to see this, keep it original. Look forward to seeing more pictures of it.
