A Huret Svelto was original equipment, but a hanger equipped Shimano Golden Arrow works - I use one on the same model. A hanger equipped Simplex Prestige would be OK too. Any hanger equipped mechs of the old school type should be OK.

I use a 28 with an AX.

Park Tool - the big one. Robust and tips can be replaced. Everything else is just cheap tinsel compared to these. Riding Velo Retro last year a guy's chain broke on a nasty hill, myself and three mates rocked up and found him struggling with a multi tool chain splitter, whipped out the 'big one'...

Although not my bag, always thought they looked like a collection of sawn up scaffolding tubes, it is a rare type of frame and for that money a no brainer... buy it.

This is a Stronglight 99 BIS, the inner chainring fits onto the reverse of the spider. These are an 86mm BCD. A more compact 48/36 set up may be better.

Back in the early 70s... I have an image somewhere of a fillet brazed Continental finished in bright orange/red.

Ive done some on a build myself but using a ruling pen.

Look forward to seeing better pictures... Did you do the box lining?
