Catalogue The BIG Rocky Mountain catalogue thread

I didn't see this one online yet, so here's the 99 Rocky catalogue: The actual catalogue size was quite small so it had to be a large file size to get decent resolution. Enjoy! https://www.dropbox.com/s/z2l432xa2dq09 ... 9.pdf?dl=0

    1988 Rocky Mountain Avalanche

I've had this one sitting for a few months, and have been meaning to get it back together and gather up the parts. I came in pretty rough shape with most of the parts beyond worn and the BB, seatpost, stem, and headset seized...so it was a bit of a project to get it to the bare frame. My plan is...

    1988-1989 Rocky Mountain Blizzard Slope/Team - DONE P8

Re: Re: Looking forward to seeing the bike with new paint! Post some pics of the new decals when you get them, mine is in dire need of new ones! Don't worry Roy, I will keep the granite finish alive with my 89 Blizzard.

1989 RM Thunderbolt (Tig welded) Part 2

Wow! The paint is great match! Very nice build! I really have to get my Thunderbolt back together...I picked up an old RS1 for mine, but your bike looks nice with the rigid fork I might have to go that way too.

    Rocky Mountain Summit Max

Re: So, I was chatting with the owner in Calgary, Canada and he purchased his Summit Max from a Toronto bike shop around 91-92. He was told the bike was originally destined for Europe but Rocky had some overstock that wasn't sold overseas so the Toronto shop was selling them off. It was his 1st...

1993 Rocky Mountain Blizzard Restoration - Final Pics

Very nice Blizzard! Well done! I like the Tange Struts on this build and the paint looks great too.

    Rocky Mountain Summit Max

I know a local guy in western Canada that still has his Summit Max that he raced on in the early 90's. I'll see if I can get some info from him. From what I've seen online, it was the same as the Summit RL, except it came with Ritchey brakes, levers, and cranks and the different paint job.

    Rocky Mountain Ti Bolt

Very nice Ti Bolt! It looks great with all the red ano. 8) I agree with RockiMtn on the fork...the Manitou 3 looks a bit out of place. It would look cool with a Manitou EFC

    1989 Rocky Mountain Blizzard

Nice 88 Blizzard! I hope you have better luck extracting the seat post than I did. Ya, it was strange that they used the 130mm spacing on these bikes...makes it hard to find replacement wheels! Thanks! I'll check out those paint options. I've still got a couple other bikes to put together...

help with the ID on this Rocky

Ya, I would have acted pretty fast too if I were in Ontario. When I first saw it listed for sale I got excited that it might be an old Thunderbolt. But parts kit, TIG welding and Struts suggested a 92 Blizzard. A great deal for $150! Mine has a serial # T9108 0xxx if that helps.

help with the ID on this Rocky

    It's a 1992 Blizzard...repainted. Good score!

    Rocky Mountain Summit

Nice! I like the twin down tubes. Interesting that they made that design only one year. But the Summit RL and Summit Max were worthy successors!

    1989 Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt DL

Nothing new...very little time to work on retro bikes lately. I'm hoping to get back to this one once I finish an 88 Avalanche.

    1989 Rocky Mountain Blizzard

Nice Find! I'm not sure who can reproduce the granite paint job. In your case, I would probably just leave the back end the way it is, since it looks good, and repaint the white front end. My plan is to respray the white and use some black or dark grey touch up paint on the "granite" parts and...

    1991 Rocky Mountain Stratos

Thanks for stopping by! It's always great to chat about retro bikes and meet up with a fellow Rocky fanatic. :) I'm glad the bike has gone to a good home. It's too bad that not many of those Nimbus frames survived. They looked great with the white syncros stem and powerlite! I saw one a while...

    1989 Rocky Mountain Blizzard

Re: Re: I wish it was that simple. My Avalanche and Blizzard serial numbers have the letter B or T followed by 4 digits (not related to the year). I would be nice if Rocky still had records of old serial numbers, but they don't. I recently inquired about a 2000 frame that was stripped of decals...

    1989 Rocky Mountain Blizzard

Re: Re: I really should get back to this one! I did get most of the original parts to build it back up (including the Syncros post  )...I've removed all the rust from the frame, but I still need to get the cable stop brazed on. I'm hoping to get the frame fixed this summer. A couple new...

1991 - Rocky Mountain Summit RL - MINT MINT MINT

Beautiful bike Shutter! If I were in the Toronto area, I'd drop by just to see this one in person...and likely end up making an offer
