    Under-Chainstay U-Brake Solution?

I run a u-brake on my rockhopper, It's a bmx brake Dia Tech made by Dia-Compe. Not a whole hot of room for bigger tires and these are not super wide (2.0 Bontrager) And to whomever told you that u brakes weren't strong, was fulla brown stuff. I think have an exage ubrake you can have for the...

    Rat Rod Vintage MTB's

I have newer and older, this is just a representative sample. The reason I asked was that most of those bikes are more on the purest side. Mine aren't. I only have four that I would consider close to stock form. I have, sitting in the room with me, that Trek I posted, a decidedly non-sport...

    Rat Rod Vintage MTB's

Where is the appropriate place to post rat rod mountain bikes? I mean I'd love to see other people's projects and maybe post a few of mine. I might even tell you why I took the chain off my 1989 super grizzly 🤪😇

    Restomod 2000 Trek 6000 WSD

I bought a 2000 Trek 6000 WSD (s) frame at a local garage sale. It was stripped, and I mean completely right down to the brake posts. 5 bucks. It was tossed it into the garage and forgotten about. Fast forward to this past summer. Surfing the local list of craig I come across a beater with some...

    1988 Specialized Rockhopper Sport

Re: Re: Not quite. The database needs to be updated to include 1989 and 1990 as also having u-brakes. And, I'd still like to know exactly how a German market intended bike ended up sold in California. Probably a sample but I'd like to know for sure.

    1988 Specialized Rockhopper Sport

I have a new theory if you're interested. The bike was purchased in San Jose California, about 20 miles from Specialized's headquarters in Morgan Hill. I wonder if they didn't dump a few limited runs locally and hence the odd serial.
