    2004 Cannondale F400 Feminine

G'ma moves from Idaho to California, brings bike, sells bike. I don't know why she bought it, it looks like the only time she rode it was testing it at the store. It has no reflectors, they were never installed, the spoke protector is broken and the bike shop kept the parts they took off when it...

Is my frame bent? 1991 Trek 7000 Aluminium.

It's bent. 50 bucks says it was a garage door into the bike on top of the car. My opinion is that it's a donor. Bikes are not worth any freak accident that may or may not take your life.

Increasing flex in a steel frame?

Thank you or this, it reinforces what my dad and machine shop teachers both said. It's the reason why I'm afraid (deathly) of aluminum tank compressors.

    Question about Zefal Lapize toeclips

Are they old enough to be antique, or are they more of a vintage item? I only found one reference to them, and no one looking for them.

    Powder coating heat treated aluminum

Not a great idea. Why? Aluminum that is heat treated is done so at a lower temperature than like steel or a steel alloy would be. From as low as 275 to as high as 450 or so. Depends on the aluminum and the treatment process. Powdercoat cures under heat, 350f to 390 or so. The real killer is...

    Pitted metal painting

Saw a post a bit ago advising to use heavy primer to fill pits in a vintage bicycle part. For a while I helped out a friend with his powder coat business doing prep. Besides learning the wonders of prep-all, I learned about this stuff...

Bit of fun - How long as a percentage of your life have you owned your bike?

Around 51% of my life I've had my 1990 Rockhopper. I also have the 1965 Schwinn my dad used to pedal me around on, and the city license plate. He gave it to me in the 80's. It was around 20 then almost 40 years ago. So it's been mine for about 66% of my life but I've been on it for over 90%.

    1989 Bianchi Super Grizzly

Dan was in marketing. He was in T-shirts, then was hired by Bill Graham (Then BGP after the death of BG) then he moved on to Rita Barela productions.
