Another low stack stem, and more periodically correct is the X-lite DH stem. Only has a stack height of 30mm, and perfect for short steerers! comes pretty short too at 50mm, but there are longer ones around.

A little trick i learnt recently to take out siezed bolts...do the usual soak with oil, and then use a drill! tighten the chuck around the bolt real good and tight, and then reverse the direction to undo the bolt and voila! you can even try the hammer action it equiped and works a treat. Thats...

To aid with the riding feel, a shorter stem may help? that is a long stem for this type of bike, but again thats my opinion. I would go for between 50 and 70mm.

ooo i will have to save that one, very similar pricing to the one i use. I too dont like black bikes, but i prefefr black wheels. I think it also hides how dirty the wheels can get!

If you find a decent bead blaster, they charge per minute, and quoted me around 10-12 minutes to strip my hardtail frame. cheaper than getting some paint stripper!
