Actually checking, it's an SLR and on my Bianchi X34 I carefully removed the old cover, being careful not to pull any foam off. Obviously with the different design, it was easier, especially around the nose.
Yes I did a zebra one and a perforated red one. The former was fabric, short term it was good but hard to clean. It was only done for one or two events.
The red perforated one was leather and sits proudly on my Gary Fisher Supercaliber to this day, I just used contact adhesive and pegs to hold...
I'd agree with all of that apart from the tubs. In cyclocross they are the go to for I would guess 85% + of bikes I see. I wish I had the nerve to use tubs on the road, but replacing one after a flat would be a proper ball ache. Shame as road tub wheels are so cheap!
They're actually pretty decent bikes. I had one but an earlier model. May have been tempted but looking at the amount of spacers, and being 6'3, I'll have to pass
That chopped off the seatpost? Just cruel. Brilliant frames, I raced one of these at the SS European champs in Koksijde. Brilliant fun racing on snow covered sand !
V-Brakes every time. Set up is a no brainer, don't ask how I know that! If they're not strong enough to avoid a tree, you're fcuked anyway! So will leave your widow with a few more quid to get you a nice coffin 🤪
