Okay amend to fag craving, pie eating, layabout. Dave, both you and Clubby are well impressive in my book despite your electric assistance. Currently wheezing my death throws just cycling/walking/crawling GT's blue route😂🤣

Bo Bounce Bikes in shed and will remain there until I can be bothered, possibly next year. If I ride off road between then and now it'll be that old Emmelle Alpine l rode at Loch Leven as its still operational and untouched. Cannot be bothered to fettle anything else.

Completely lost my bike mojo😕 Got a shed full of bikes but every time I go in I get depressed and leave😞 Can't even be bothered to ride one more than a couple of hundred meters. Have not felt this bad about cycling ever. I hope it's a passing phase😐

    God Bless Her.

I like the fact that she still did her constitutional duty re the new PM and then quietly without fuss left us. Most respect to the late great HRH Queen Elizabeth II👏👏👏👏

No Bounce meet, cancelled for moment

To me who has been single speed riding and taking part in single speed mtb events since the late 90's, the idea of ss full sus is unthinkable. SS is about the purity of simplicity, plus when you only have one ratio you don't want what limited power, in my case very little, being bled off before...

Reyt-pack September 2022 (Downhill vintage rigid race Yorkshire style)

Whenever this happens, it's not happening for me, I am giving up on this madness. Life is too short to wait forever, forever ever, forever ever?????

No Bounce meet, cancelled for moment

It would appear the rear derailleur hanger is subtly but annoyingly out of alignment so that no matter how you fiddle with it, one or two gears will not engage. Had a look at it and not convinced its just the hanger, possibly its mounting point on the swing arm or even the whole swingarm. Bike...

Does Your Bike Want To Kill You

I agree on the GT bit as I had a GT Pantera with matching rigid forks. Every single miniscule bit of gravel I hit made my lower back fully aware of its presence. Suspension forks only softened the front end, rear was still filling dislodging rigid. Sold that on quick enough to some one who...

Does Your Bike Want To Kill You

I have a comfy aluminium hardtail from the late 90's called a Quantum Team. I have never heard of the make but its some generic frame, nothing special. The bikes the right size for me, nothing feels wrong in any way but its trying to kill me. I am now convinced that a bike, an inanimate object...

Mislaid my skills and Lost my bottle, where did I put them???

We as a retro biking community are in some part getting on a bit. We might not ride as often as we did or even at all. Some are still good riders or possess some skill. Others and I include myself are not practicing enough, getting rusty and even losing our nerve. Today as I was feeling a wee...

Sweaty Bawbags - Saturday August 27th Dunkeld

Badly, my chronic illness is playing up these days, frequently too knackered and weak to do much else than 14 hours of weekly work then sleeping 😕 Breathless as I am typing this but no cure for chronic fatigue only Pacing self management regime. I have been doing too much in a given week, need...

    What's this bike?

The Ritchey bit on the dropouts just means the frame uses dropouts made by Ritchey😉

What have i bought? Reynolds 653 Raleigh with XC-Pro - is it a White Lightning?-now with added muddy fox content

Had one of those for several years and rode it lots, one of the best retro steeds to pass through my collection. Remember it's a White Lightnin', there is no 'g' 😁

Sweaty Bawbags - Saturday August 27th Dunkeld

Possibly not in favour of the casualty circuit as the all singing and dancing full sus very much might not be ready for Bawbags. Will probably be on a toned down version of the hardtail that I crashed at Kinnoull Hill but with 27.5 wheels instead of the teeny 26ers and less burly forks. I will...
