Got my new bike, its Huge and a nice sensible shade of dark brown so will not get cleaned and polished too often😁 Rides well and fits me perfect straight out of the box which surprised me. Only thing to change is the front and rear thru axles to quick release as remembering to pack a rear 8mm...

Twas great fun, but I did have the wrong bike, MacRetro have not quite got the hang of gravel, there is always a strong desire to ride a more mtb terrain 😁😂

All the same I'll bring a retro mtb, safer on slicker mud surfaces. EDIT: Can't be bothered, I'll bring modded roadbike and struggle around if need be. 🙄😁 See yous later😉

With aluminium rims these brakes will be better than before and with new brake blocks better still. Yes the brakes will suffice as a commuter, but will be bad if riding modern enduro trails😁

I am a lover of old style cup and cone "adjustable" square taper bottom brackets. Only downside is not having the right removal tool for a given design. I do thus tend to go for the shimano style splined cups to keep everything simple. I like to be able to fix anything simply rather than chuck...
