Epicyclo definitely seen but so was Jamie although only because of his bike and outfit as it moved away. I know I cannot do the puffer properly but I want to take part and get at least 2 laps in just to say I was there. One day it might happen🙂
If a miracle happened such as a new job with Sundays off, I would be there. However miracles are a wee bit thin on ground at moment but I live in hope....... Well Letterwalton actually but its almost as good😁
Trp Spyres are very good cable disc brakes. Got a pair for small change at bike station and they stop me as good as older model hydraulic discs and use short travel levers so very versatile. Use shimano style pads too so easy to source.
Good luck at Puffer, hope weather is kind 🤞😉
I with Clubby's frequent encouragement as we are both MacRetro and I am a bigger Conservative retrobiker than most have finally joined the dark side with an On-One Scandal 29er. I have not suddenly found a desire to ride faster, or tackle gnarlier trails. I am now just the owner of a bike that...
Annoyingly I was offered a solo place in this year's puffer which is on my bucket list a couple of days after I signed a contract with Tesco’s for a month's work in January working weekends. So darn and blast I have had to cancel my place to earn dosh in a supermarket...
Hello wonderland, welcome to our merry clan. What part of the Midlands, I have some familiarity with the West Midlands, specifically Stafford, Cannock, Stone, Stoke etc having once been married to a Lass from thereabouts 😁
Still daft enough to be up for this provided no one expects more than one lap from me. Hope to have built my evolutionary homage to the Urt full sus by then using a brazing kit, pop riveter and chewing gum. Still like to be in team "Thought's People" 😁
Now located in northern Argyle 😊
Unfortunately not likely to be involved in any weekend mountain biking adventures due to new temporary Tesco job has me working all weekends for a bit😒
So see you lot next year sometime😉
Find a demo day somewhere especially if it's at a trail centre. Had a go on something really trick by Scott a few years ago and I was blown away by the difference modern geo made over my retro steeds. I too am at the poor end of the economy but found a 24 month zero interest finance deal which...
Literally just bought one, an On-One Scandal XL 29er with boost hubs etc.
Realised that although I still like retro, many of the trails I want to attempt to ride have been modernised to the requirements of modern bikes. Only way I can thus ride them is join the now because the bikes of then...
French headsets are not ISO. Steerer is 25mm not 25.4mm and turns per inch is, I think 25.2 not 24. The headset cups tend to be slightly wider internally so you need to use loose ball bearings not caged. I have a 60's Peugeot that has a lot of idiosyncrasies 🙄😊
Look up Sheldon Brown cribsheet...
Alas did not get out on any trails but did ride it around local park. Fits me like a glove and everything works smooth as silk. Reviewed a few vids on how to ride a modern hardtail, that's going to be the hard bit. I am going to have to reverse over 20 years of ingrained riding habits. Keeping...
