Re: According to a hillwalking forum I look at now and again they have done exactly the same thing on the Pentlands. Destroyed well established paths with the logging machines.

Re: Thanks chaps. It's not boost. I'll get the rule out later and measure. I'm curious now. It's not something that really mattered with 2x or 3x set ups.

The Voodoo Bizango has been great since I got it through cycle2work however the gearing is a bit much for the hills. It comes with a 32T SRAM direct mount chainring as standard. This has a 3mm offset. Wiggle are currently selling a 28T SRAM direct mount chainring with 6mm offset for £9.99. Will...

    MacRetro chat and rides thread

Re: I was at Comrie last Friday. The blue is fast and swoopy and good fun. The red is probably the most technically difficult red I've ridden. Very rocky with some steep chutes. Also some smooth rock slabs. I lost the front turning on a flat rock slab and went doon. No damage done. I had a...

Re: I'm off that weekend so had a swatch at some climb reports for Ben Macdui. It appears you can go so far on bikes from Linn o' Dee then park the bikes and hike the rest of the way. Not one for the inexperienced or unfit walker it seems. A lot of Munro baggers leave this one until they've got...

    Festive Frolics 2018/19 - Sunday 30th December

Re: Head north through Dunkeld on the A923 then turn right onto the Blairgowrie Rd (also the A923). There's a left turn onto a pretty poor dirt road which leads to the carpark. The route is north to loch Ordie then along the south of the loch then a bit of singletrack south of Duechary hill...

So , if this goes ahead are we going to do the traditional retro friendly MacRetro route or something different? I know there are other trails in the area but I'm not familiar with them. I'm thinking it would be nice if we could ride retro where possible in the spirit of Retrobike/MacRetro

    Festive Frolics 2018/19 - Sunday 30th December

Re: Very strange,I was thinking about this last week. I think the last Festive Frolics was 2015 when I fell off for no apparent reason and broke my ribs. I've rarely sat on a mountain bike since however recently have had a hankering to get back into it. I'd be up for a Festive Bawbags...
