My ‘94 Mongoose Amplifier (AMP) and YouTube star

Very nice Amplifier built up. 🥰 I use a Risse Genesis oil/air damper on mine. This reduces the torsion of the rear triangle somewhat. In addition, the Risse Genesis damper has a better response than the original damper with the steel spring and the bike does not swing as much on the rear when...

    Centurion Titanium SX from 1992/94

Update: Now with a 680 grams titanium rigid fork and Grafton Re-entry levers + shifter perches in purple. I was searching for more than 2 years for a nice titanium rigid fork now and finally I found one 🥰 8.3 kilos at the moment. Regards Olli

    My crazy Titanium Bike

Hi again ;) Now I dare to show you my Ti bike. 🤣 Bought the frame in 1997 from a bike-shop here in Cologne. The frame was a slow seller. The shop had this frame hanging on the wall forever. I think the frame hung there for at least 3 or 4 years. It was originally supposed to cost 3700 marks...

Fat Chance Yo Eddy from 1992 (Team Colour)

No, I never had such big tires on it. My biggest tire has 2.35" (Klein Death Grip). Never had tubeless tires on any of my bikes. I'm only collecting retro stuff. I don't use modern equipment. I don't like that modern china stuff.

Fat Chance Yo Eddy from 1992 (Team Colour)

It rides awesome. One of the best bikes I'd ever ridden. Most of the time I ride it on forest paths, gravel paths, easy terrain or tours. Tire width is 2.1". But the Conti Twister Supersonics look more like 1.9". On the Spinergys I had Hutchinson 1" slicks.

    GT talera 1994

I like the GT Talera. Your Talera is in nice condition it seems. Nice colour also. I like it. A GT Talera was my first MTB my parents gifted me for Christmas 1991. Still have the frame in my basement.

Mongoose Amplifier from 1993 (one of the first real full suspension bikes)

To be honest, these bikes are a bit spongy. The rear end isn't particularly torsion-resistant and also not laterally stiff. But in easy terrain it works well and is not noticeable. But I like the look of it. To hell with lateral stiffness 😁 Regards, Olli

    Alpinestars Almega XTR (1992)

The weight of the stem is 236grams on my scale. But the clampsize is to large to fit 1 1/8 fork shafts. You need a shim for that also if you wanna put it onto an 1 1/8 inch shaft. Regards Olli

Mongoose Amplifier from 1993 (one of the first real full suspension bikes)

Hello Today I wanna show you another bike from my collection of vintage bikes from the good old days... the Mongoose Amplifier with AMP fork by Horst Leitner. One of the first full suspension bikes in the early 90's. I always loved the design of the Amplifier but in 1993 this bike was out of...

    Alpinestars Almega XTR (1992)

Yeah, 0 degree rise and it has 46.5mm stack high at the steerer clamp for the fork shaft. I put the old one to the basement. But tomorrow I can tell you the exact weight of it. Sure you could use shims to put standard bars onto it. But I'm not sure if there are shims in that size available. But...

    Alpinestars Almega XTR (1992)

Yes, these Alpinestars stems are indeed a little weird sized. They are made for the old 28.4mm Alpinestars oversized bars. The clamp for the fork shaft is with 30mm also not standard sized I think. I assume that these Stems will only fit the 1 1/4 inch Alpinestars fork shafts. But I'm not an...
