    You will need the special granny ring spacers to hold the spider onto the crank arm if you haven´t got them. Check for cracks around the granny bolt studs too. You´ve probably worked this out by now though!

    Frame is too different to be an Ascent EX 1989. The components are too low end as well. Thats what I thought it was at first!

    Sounds like a later model Torus before they had a disc brake mount. Cables on top of top tube Two drain holes in bb E type mech boss Machined out section in drop outs Better looking welding Think that’s it.
