    Caustic soda time

Using boiling water can cause it to explode. The fumes at any temperature can burn your lungs. The fumes at higher temperatures are far worse.

Canti brake bosses missing - what do I need?

I made a load of canti 'studs' for Bontragers years ago. They are just a sleeve that goes over the canti bolt with no thread. The one on the right is same as the ones I made. Let me know if you need any, from memory they are 6 pounds each. I thinkvthey are stainless 303. Thread here about it:

    Unknown very light steel frame.

Thats interesting. The rusty one and the blue one are similar, but the welding isn't neat. Still different unfortunately. That same seller is also selling the below, which is very similar except for it being titanium! Double checked mine with a magnet and its definately steel! Moser don't seem...

Unusual Bottom bracket dilemma - *now sorted thanks to RB!*

Gary Fisher used a 88.5mm(?) threadless for a bit. What did Bullseye / Pace use? Was it 100mm?

The below advert suggests that Ritchey Cast Dropouts were new in 1996. So it’s later than that. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/d/6007-2/1996.pdf

I think someone suggested that previously and it wasn’t, I’ll have another look though thanks.

Yes, I can’t find anything else with similar noodles! I’ve not really look at cable routing yet, but as per the posts above I’ve got some PTFE tubing that will go through the noodles for the inner cables. I made the headset press years ago but have only used it a couple of times! The bottom...

    Unknown very light steel frame.

I’m using PTFE tubing to go through the noodles etc. I’ve put load of pictures of this frame up on various forums / Facebook groups, no one seems to know what it is. The frame looks to be well made but the canti studs are at funny angles, both are different, so these may not be original. I had...

I’ve got some PTFE tubing that will go over the inner cable and protect the seattube. It’s similar to the stuff Klein use for their internal cabling.

As per usual the headset is first, it’s a ‘SurePromise’ from Amazon, I’ve had a few of these before and they are good. Unfortunately the bearings in this one are a bit rough so I’ll use some from another headset. The first problem is the steerer isn’t really long enough. I’ve found a USE Atom...
