    Another Barn find, any good?

I reckon both seat posts and stems will be a bit of a struggle to move

1962 Claud Butler Cordon Bleu #14064 FINISHED Pg6

Had to do that to a couple of decent freewheels over the years but I still feel a little pang of failure when I can't save them, anyway nice looking hubs. I've got a large flange set somewhere I need to lace into some rims and your thread has reminded me I've got a complete group of slightly...

    Look KG 243

Very nice indeed. I'm very partial to a Look KG myself. I've got this Look KG96, its the newest bike I own and quite out of place with the rest of my machines but I have to say its a machine I absolutely love.

81 mk5 Carlton Pro, all Japanese no shimano build, is now a 78 in silver 😏.

I like that, nice machine, Carltons from that period are right up my alley and that's usually what I do, build them up with what I intend to use component wise, try them for a bit and then strip them down again ready for paint.

    Any clues

I'd say that want's doing properly, it has the makings of a very nice machine but to get there would need a good budget. If you do it yourself it will need silver with a green lacquer over it to get the colour and then a decent 2K lacquer over the top once you've added the decals. And I will...

What model is my Falcon project?

Looking at it I reckon the only original bits left are the stem, some of the headset, possibly the BB and if I'm honest I'm not convinced on the stem. The rest has been changed so it might have been broken up at some point in its life and then someone built it up from a frame with what they had...

What model is my Falcon project?

That's deffo a Majorca but all the bits on it are wrong. I've got a completely original one here you can compare it to, the only things not original on mine are the tyres, brake lever hoods and chain. Catalogue page below Tange frame but I can't remember which tubing and one rung down from...

RBotM August 2021 - OPEN MONTH - Entries now open!

The catalogue page is earlier than my bike so late 70's or maybe 1980, my bike is 1981 or 1982 I think (I should really check the frame number) and the image was just a google search, its amazing what's out there

RBotM August 2021 - OPEN MONTH - Entries now open!

As its an open month I thought I'd lower the bar a bit and enter the bike that made my 12 year old self go all weak and wobbly at the knees when thumbing through my Mums Freemans catalogue So ladies and gentlemen I give you the electric blue shinyness that is the B.S.A Tour De France in all its...

rBoTM RBotM July 2021 - Theme - Summer Rides

Taking a Look at the beach. One of the great things about living at the seaside is the summer mornings before the beaches fill up. Ironically it wasn't that nice a morning when I took this one but hey ho this isn't the Med you know.

1987 Marlboro Claud Butler Majestic 2 tandem FINISHED pg13

You need to do that whilst overtaking someone covered in Lycra riding a very modern bike and just nod your head and say mornin as you whizz past.

1987 Marlboro Claud Butler Majestic 2 tandem FINISHED pg13

You've surpassed even yourself Peachy. Lovely machine, superb build and a very interesting read. Now I've got an old tandem frame of indeterminate heritage and some tandem specific bits in the garage that I've been threatening to do something with for years but I'm not sure if your thread has...

Show me your self coloured bikes

Paint wise I use pretty much whatever I can get and its more a case of colour choice than the make of the paint. I find you do get what you pay for but also the prep and the quality of the clear coat I put over the top makes the most difference when it comes to durability so I always put a lot...

    Goodbye to ebay !

For the moment I've let this lapse with ebay selling so I can still buy through them using Paypal but my selling account is frozen, regardless of whether my instincts are unfounded or not allowing them access to my bank account just doesn't sit right from a security perspective so for now that's...

Show me your self coloured bikes

Looking back through some of mine it seems I don't often do single colours unless its to keep something similar to original but here's a couple of the odd ones I've done that are not factory correct apart from the Abeni Europa, might be some ideas there
