The ebay ad you posted above is for an older model, might be an m735 or thereabouts judging by the gold XT lettering... not that it really matters, it would work fine if it's the right pull and band width. But if you're aiming for the FD that came on there in 1998, you should look for a FD-M739...

Sadly, it was too small for me, too, Shamus. My other RMs are all 18.5. I should've known it would be too small, especially with the sloping top tube, but it was such a good deal, I couldn't help myself. Plus, I thought my Thunderbolt was a 17.5" when I bought this one. Argh. Old age is killing...

That's a stunner. Can't think of a single thing I'd change (well, maybe the frame size) :xmas-wink:
