    Maclean's Featherweight - 1930s (I think?)

Re: Hi, looks to be around 1937 ish, to confirm its a maclean there should be a small letter to the left ( looking at the picture ) of the serial number on the seat lug, if you are looking at the serial number at 90 degrees just above it, does this make sense, it is difficult to explain, but...

    Frame ID Please

Re: Hi, not many clues, early to mid thirties I suspect, the long serial number points to a mass producer but who ? The dropouts are Brampton and that's about it, there was not a lot of customising of frames with only limited lug 'designs' at this time, all of which could be bought by mail...

    Mike Mullet - Now sold

Re: Hi, yes indeed, the tyres are 700c x 23, the current mudguards I think would accommodate 25's no problem, but 28's I couldn't say. I will keep it as a whole until the end of October, so if it is still available, you are welcome to inspect. Thanks Terry

Re: Hi, if you are serious I'm happy to meet half way ( Coventry/Birmingham ), if you pay a bit towards the petrol, which I suspect would be cheaper than posting. Do you want some more photos, could provide an email address. Thanks Terry

Leedall bicycles of Hammersmith circa 1930's

Re: Hi Paul, not much on the parent company https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Omnium_Export looks like a late 20's company expanding into a few things and probably floored by the recession in the early 30's. A lost marquee indeed, they maybe something in a old VCC News & Views, I'll see what I can...

    Mike Mullet - Now sold

Re: Hi, just to make you aware, I completed a 40 mile ride on it today, it is a bit big for me, my issue with it was the reach. All the gears work fine, had to hit the granny wheel on Gravel hill, Hexton, all worked well. Thanks Terry

Re: Hi, thanks for that nugget of info, I suppose it is obvious but I hadn't seen it before, just in case someone else hasn't seen it before I've attached a bad photo of it, it was raining so it had to be a garage photo. Thanks Terry

    Mike Mullet - Now sold

Hi. selling on behalf of a friend, a late 80's, 90's ( I think ) Mike Mullet 753r ( I think the 'r' stands for imperial size tubing ) , it is in original used condition, all appears well with it, I may have a ride out at the weekend to confirm. Size wise it is 25" Seat Tube and 23" Top Tube C to...

    1930s Selbach build

Re: Hi, what a lovely restoration, that will look stunning. There should of been a serial number on the seat tube bit of the bottom bracket which would help date it, the fork would be the only question mark, but after 1935 all sorts of things happened due to the unfortunate death of Maurice, so...

Help please re an R. O. Harrison bike

Re: Hi, looks 50's, generally R O Harrison serial numbers were 90 degrees to your serial number on the BB, but that's just from my experience and stamping the serial number in that position is something Selbach did, and that's where he learned his trade, so not an issue but more piccies would...

    Handlebar shapes - just wonderin'

Re: Hi, shallow drops, small frames, sounds like 1920's to mid 30's :D . Marketing equals forcing change for change's sake, and there are only limited set of variable's available with a bike, what goes around comes around, just a passing thought on a quiet day. Thanks Terry

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Re: Hi, sorry, didn't mean to sound off, the main difference you will find other than the different design, was the lug filing, a good ephgrave will have the standard lug design, but also the lugs be filed finely down, this does vary from frame to frame, but that's hand building for you, it...
