I've had aluminium Saint cranks powdercoated with no problems. As has been said already the secret is in the preparation and protection of the threads. Now would be the time to consider a colour change too.

Sorry for the late reply but back on line now. I have a Fox fork which accepts a Post Mount brake or adaptor to which I want to fit a Magura Louise brake which is made to the old International Standard. The adaptor would need to "join" these two standards, ideally for a 180mm rotor but a 160 or...
