The only 853 I can recall is the one that has had a picture posted. We made as few as about 35 or so. It may have been re-sprayed, or it may not even be one of ours. I certainly don't remember any "fat" top tubes, sorry. Regards

1997-2000 only. The frame was built to our design by A-Pro of Taiwan. A frame maker used by a lot of top end "niche" brands.

The 3 main tubes are titanium. The head lug is alloy. The joint shows signs of movement and it appears that the bond has become loose. The long travel forks have not helped.

The early problems were due simply to lack of adhesive in the joint area between the stay and the bb shell. Holes were drilled into the shell ports and adhesive was injected. We also used a sealing ring once a "witness" of adhesive was acheived. To quote Ben Franklin, "but in the world...

It could be a Kalloy or one from Jou Ding (JD Comps, Tranz-X) They were the favoured suppliers to OEM's for own branding. Failing that Hsin Lung (Zoom) or Lee-Chi.
