Is it this one? The guy in the picture is none other than Rod Ellingworth of Team Sky, on the day he joined the Delta Racing Team; factory team of Raleigh Special Products.

The seat post is a Kalloy SP-248.

I have my doubts about it being a Raleigh. Pump pegs, down tube guides, seat stay bridge all look wrong. I would also expect to see a gold BS6102 sticker on the bottom of the down tube.

THe are made in Italy by Plastiche Cassano. They are a well known company in the trade. We used them for grips on many Raleigh and Raleigh Special Products bikes. http://lnx.progrip.com/site/

It was the first frame I sourced from China. Great frame maker. Young Fu.

The frame is 7005 butted alloy, with CNC yoke, box section chainstays and was made in Taiwan by A-Pro. Top frame builder. Gutted !!!!!! :x :x :x

Nice find. :) It is defo a Raleigh Special Products bike. Hand assembled by just one builder. The decal on the bottom of the down tube will tell you what tubes were used in the frame. I Think it was double butted cro-mo. Post a pic of that decal. Best regards

Having read the articele, I noticed at the bottom "Whiteburner Products". They were owned bu Joe Johal and his brother. They made bottle cages that we bought and fitted to Raleigh bikes.

The really sad part about your post is the bit about "looked to America". During my time at Raleigh and later at other companies, I visited many factories in Taiwan and China. There I saw "American, Canadian and more being assembled on production lines, side by side. All Raleigh Special...
