    Found this one in the local classifieds (went something like “two mountain bikes, one Marin”). When I saw the picture I could not believe my eyes… had to collect it the very moment. unfortunately the frame is far too big for me, but hey :)

    Relaxed geo. …. So THAT is why I like the ride so much. Must be me getting old :oops: unfortunately I did not weigh the frame. The finished bike is 11.3 kg thank you for the great advice!

    @W7Ford strange thing is, the decals are almost the same - but who in his right mind would copy decals just almost an change the expert to elite . ? Here is a detail shot, including the seat post lug. thanks for the insight, any idea what else it could be?

    one for the German Marin fans out there: on eBay-Kleinanzeigen.de: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/mountainbike-marin/1789846698-217-7562 it’s none of mine but close to where I live (Chiemsee) - and it seems to be in good shape if a bit small. frame size is 42 cm.

    As always it depends. It is a beautiful bike. But it will not be a collector’s piece, whatever parts you put on it. So if you like to ride it, go ahead. It will ride nicely. If you want to create a valuable bike, look for for a more upscale frame and start from there. (like an Eldridge grade)...
