Re: Thanks Callisto for the info and pics of the Atala frames in their original colour schemes. My other Atala bike has the Campagnolo dropouts like yours. Did you like the Atala frames on how they rode (handling)? Yes you are right that a previous owner has welded the gear mount on the...

Re: Thanks Callisto - tell you the truth I was originally thinking the same thing about getting the original early type Gran Sport and the front match box type front changer but finding one in decent condition and reasonable price was beyond my budget. I managed to get the Nuovo Record gear set...

Re: Thanks glad you like it. I agree the logo on the tires are a bit too modern. They are in fact clinchers not tubulars and getting current Italian made ones with amber sidewalls are hard to come by. Not many brands do the old school look anymore!

Re: Found out today that the jockey wheel cage of the Campy Nuovo Record rear derailleur will make contact with the spokes using the 4 speed freewheel. I think it is a combination of the welded on derailleur dropout being not completely straight and the Campy cage being abit more chunky...

Re: Sneaked in some more progress between work commitments. Fresh bearings and grease on bottom bracket, wheel hubs and headset. All through the saddle that came with the bike is pretty shot I managed to tart it up a bit by cleaning up the brass rivets and applied some Brooks Proofide on the...

Re: Just an update with some pics with the almost finished paint job. Decals and replacement headbadge applied and just need some more layers of clear coat. I was abit worried it might be a touch too light in the grey area but pretty happy with it in the end. I hand painted the lugwork using a...

Scott Ultimate Early 1990's Full Suspension

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-Scot ... 5d4fdd35e9 Nice. I remember these back in the day and would have loved to own one (well any Scott from that period) with a Tomac disc rear wheel and a massive Kamikaze sized front chainring. Hate to think of the action of the suspension travel...

Re: I used a combo of WD40 and fine steel wool and a good dose of elbow grease. They're not perfect but heaps better than original condition when I got it.

    1999 Kona Stab Dee Lux

Re: That's a definitely a 1999 model. Same as mine but different color. Thought they only sold in the blue/black scheme but maybe sold in a different market or a repaint? Rear shock should be a Fox Vanilla RC ( think its 220mm eye to eye in length - have to double check) which you may still...

    1980s Centurion MTB

Re: Thanks JonTom. I recently took the bike out after a month of rain here and came back covered in crud but had a very big smile at the end of it. Handles really well in the dirt and even passed two riders on their fancy dual suspension bikes on the descent! I might be interested in those...

Scott Team Racing Bike and Endorphin Frame

Re: I agree that the Team Racing bike is in very nice condition. All it needs is a old Ritchey headset, Scott bullhorn bars and different forks. I would be tempted if I lived in the neighbourhood. As far as I know the Endorphin is still up for sale.
