Anyone near Amersham with a 2-prong Suntour freewheel tool?

Very kind. Looks like this before you've been silly and put it on a wheel without thinking. Whether the prongs go in the 11 and 5 o'clock spaces or 1 and 7 o'clock I don't know. I think, as you suspect, the smaller ones.

Vintage mechs - Shimano rear, Huret front

Although of course neither is really vintage as they are younger than ME. So I have... 1 x Shimano 600 (Ultegra) tricolor rear mech RD-6400. A few scuffs. £15 posted. 1 x 1984 Huret braze-on front mech, probably from Challenger II group. Great condition. £10 posted.

Anyone near Amersham with a 2-prong Suntour freewheel tool?

Aha, excellent. Thanks chaps. @martinb, does 4pm ish qualify as in the day? I'm assuming you mean office hours. My own stupid fault. I paid Chiltern Bike Barn £5 to remove this (6 speed) f/wheel from a wheel to put on another wheel, then completely ignored a friend's advice to take the...

    Nitto/Campagnolo/Shampagnolo/Shimano - reduced

Re: Campagnolo/Shimano/Nitto/Continental/FRM/NOS/Used/Etc Bvgger, in between my post and yours I had to act on a similar pair on eBay. Sorry if I got your hopes up... will get back to you if these others are rubbish. FWIW I'm *hoping* the point of this wider mount is so it can attach to a...

    Retro brake cable positioning?

I think I know the answer to this but need to check and am generally not sure of the correct terminology. My brake cables need to attach the right hand side of the caliper (as looking at when riding). However I want to set it up so that the right brake lever operates the front as that's what...

Just one Maillard/Campag style toe clip (not pedal)

i.e. like this Cheap tat preferred. Well, posh aceness preferred at the price of cheap tat. I already have one of Ducson brand but obviously need a partner.

WANTED: toe clip adapters? Kinda Campag to er "normal"

Given ubiquitous Shimano had the 3-bolt attachment for their pedals I am surprised you can't get replacements for those clips either.

Exactly why I'm after the adapters!

WANTED: toe clip adapters? Kinda Campag to er "normal"

I need some of these as I can't find the right clips for my daft pedals. Sorry for large pic! (or v cheap toe clips with the in-line fixings... which I've never seen for sale) Anyone? Ta, Andrew.

What saddle is this likely to be?

Oo ok. I always thought Rollses were more modern than that... will look into it.

What saddle is this likely to be?

I've got one of these badboys but it hasn't got the original saddle and I want to get something more authentic: Looking around various catalogues for that model it could either be a Gallet (unspecified model but leather), an unspecified San Marco or a San Marco 313 (Corsair?) in particular...

    Can anyone identify these pedals?

I've just bought these at a bargain price, knowing full well I'd struggle to find dust caps and toe clips but optimistic nonetheless. It's proving to be a stupid move - even though so far I've only lost as much as a pint of beer, some toe clips that MIGHT work just went for £17 on eBay. And I...

    Duh. Aero toe clips.

Ah yes, of course - looking at it now I see the toe end sticks out beyond where you'd attach the clip to a symmetrical pedal. Well worth a go, thanks for that.

    Duh. Aero toe clips.

I knew this would happen but thought I'd risk it anyway and indeed it was a bargain... but perhaps not. Just bought some 70s/80s "aero" pedals without the toe clips on the assumption I could easily find some replacements. But oooh no. Is there any drilling/bending bodge you can do with the...

    Cheap 1980s Simplex rear mech

"Cheap" meaning under £30 posted and in good working order as I haven't a clue about servicing or repairing such things. Not the claw arm type. Preferably an S061 but will consider SX061, SLJ550 or SLJ4000... and SX410 if none of the others are forthcoming. Thx, Andrew.

    Early 80s Simplex RD recommendation

Re: I am surprised in general that despite being mass market and ubiquitous animals, Peugeot parts can be quite hard to come by. Does the SX have the plastic parts that everyone is so disparaging of?

    Early 80s Simplex RD recommendation

I've just acquired a 1982 Peugeot PKN10. The original rear mech I'm sure would have been a Simplex, but in the case has been replaced which by all accounts was a wise thing to do. However seeing as the point of the exercise is to have a "vintage" bike, I want to have a correct period/model a...
